Men’s Golf in Third Place After First Day of NCAA Championships Posted on May 11th, 2004 by

The Gustavus men’s golf team got off to a solid start at the NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Championships which is being held at the PGA of Southern California Golf Club at Oak Valley in Beaumont, Calif. The Gusties are in third place with a score of 299. Ohio Wesleyan is in first place with a score of 290 and host Redlands is in second at 298.

The Gusties were led by Neil Johnson who fired an even par 72. Luke Benoit contributed a 74 followed by Chase Thonvold at 76, Brent Borgstahl at 77 and Brady Hoffman at 78.

Gustavus will tee off beginning at 12:50 pm on Tuesday (Pacific Standard Time – 2:50 Central Standard Time). Chase Thonvold will start at 12:50 followed by Brady Hoffman at 1:00, Brent Borgstahl at 1:10, Neil Johnson at 1:20 and Luke Benoit at 1:30.
