Women’s Golf Places Seventh in the Maverick Invite Posted on April 18th, 2004 by

The Gustavus women’s golf team traveled to Waseca, Minn. to compete in the Minnesota State University Maverick Invitational. On Saturday, the Gusties compiled a team score of 335 and was tied with St. Cloud State for second place.

In the second day of competition, the teams had to deal with 60 mph wind gusts. Gustavus shot a 381 on Sunday and compiled a two-day team score of 716. The Gusties finished in seventh place out of 12 teams.

Individually, Kelli Groff finished 23rd overall with a two-day score of 173. Kelsey Getz placed 28th overall with a two-day score of 175.

The Gusties will be back in action on Wednesday in Le Suer, Minn. Gustavus will compete against Minnesota State University in a dual meet
