Women’s Basketball Playoff Game Against Carleton Will Be Broadcast on the Web Posted on February 25th, 2004 by

The Gustavus women’s basketball team will play Carleton in the semifinals of the MIAC Tournament in Northfield on Wednesday night, February 25 at 7:30 pm. The Gusties, who finished third in the league standings with a record of 18-4, are the #3 seed in the tournament. The Knights, who tied for the MIAC regular season title with a mark of 19-3, are the #2 seed. The winner of this game will advance to play in the MIAC Playoff Champiopnship on Saturday at a site and time yet to be determined. If the Gusties win they would face either Concordia or St. Ben’s in the final.

This will be the third consecutive year that the Gusties have advanced to the MIAC Playoff semifinals. Gustavus lost to St. Ben’s in the semifinals two years again and then defeated the Blazers last year to advance to the championship game against Carleton.
This will be the third meeting this season between Gustavus and Carleton. The two teams split the regular season contests. Carleton claimied a 88-79 overtime win in Northfield on January 16 and then Gustavus posted a 79-71 victory in St. Peter this past Saturday. Gustavus is currently 21-5 overall, while Carleton is 22-3.
