Women’s Hockey falls to Bowdoin College 1-0 Posted on February 2nd, 2004 by

The Gustavus Adolphus women’s hockey team lost 1-0 to Bowdoin College on Monday night in Brunswick, Maine. Fifth-ranked Bowdoin College improve to 14-3-1 and extend their unbeaten streak to 12 games and Gusties fall to 12-4 and see their win streak end at 10 games.

Neither team was able to take advantage of the power-play as the Gusties went 0-5 and the Polar Bears went 0-6. There were 15 penalties in the contest for a total of 30 penalty minutes.

The only goal of the game took place at 7:09 in the third period. Marissa O’neil took a feed from Britney Carr and went top shelf on the Gustavus goaltender Kristin Setterstrom. Setterstrom made 21 saves on the night. Nathalie Morgan, Bowdoin goaltender, turned away 25 shots from Gustavus and earned her fourth shutout of the season.

Gustavus will have to regroup quickly as they face tenth-ranked Williams College Tuesday afternoon in Williamstown, Massachusetts.
