The Gustavus women’s soccer team blanked UW-Stout 1-0 in a non-conference matchup in St. Peter on Saturday.
Samantha Engh scored her team-leading eighth goal of the season in the game’s 71st minute to give the Gusties the one-goal victory. Lindsay LaVoie went the distance in goal while making three saves for Gustavus.
On a cold and windy afternoon, Gustavus outshot UW-Stout 11-4. Melissa Ballwey patrolled the net for the Blue Devils. She made six saves on the day.
With the victory, Gustavus improved to 8-6-1 on the year. UW-Stout dropped to 11-7. The Gusties will resume MIAC play by hosting St. Thomas on Wednesday.
