Women’s Golf in Fourth Place After First Day of MIAC Tournament Posted on October 4th, 2003 by

The Gustavus women’s golf team shot an uncharacteristic 354 and finds themselves in fourth place after the first day of the MIAC Championship. The tournament is being played at Cedar Valley Golf Club in Winona, Minnesota.

St. Thomas is in first place at 340, followed by Concordia at 351, St. Ben’s at 353 and then Gustavus at 354. The Gusties entered the tournament with an average 18-hole team score of 343.0.

First round individual scores for Gustavus included Kelli Groff with an 86, Katie Alpin with an 88, Kelsey Getz with a 90, Andrea Nelson with a 90, Alana Reetz with a 92 and Erin Schliep with a 93.

The second and final round will be played on Sunday morning. Gustavus has finished second each of the past two years at the MIAC Championship.
