The Gustavus women’s golf team has its sights set on winning the programs first-ever MIAC Championship after finishing second each of the last two years.

First-year head coach Wayne Norman inherits four players from a squad that finished seventh at the NCAA Championships last May. That group includes juniors Kelsey Getz and Katie Aplin and sophomores Alana Reetz and Erin Schliep. Schliep was selected as the Newcomer of the Year by the Minnesota
Women’s Collegiate Golf Coaches Association last spring. So far this fall, the Gusties have played very well including a first place finish at the eight-team Small College Invitational and a third place finish at the 13-team Southwest State Invitational. Stroke averages for the Gusties this fall include Katie Aplin at 83.50, sophomore Kelli Groff at 84.16, Kelsey Getz at 85.67, Erin Schliep at 86.33 and Alana Reetz at 89.50. Getz claimed medalist
honors at the Small College Invitational with a 36-hole total of 80-84-164. Aplin has posted a second place finish at the Small College Invite and a sixth place finish at the Maverick Invitational.
