Melissa Mackley and Kimbra Kosak Named To CoSIDA Academic All-America At-Large TeamGustavus Adolphus College junior women's hockey player Melissa Mackley and senior women's golfer Kimbra Kosak have been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Women's At-Large Team as released by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Mackley, a College Division First Team selection, and Kosak, a College Division Second Team selection, are the fifth and sixth Gustavus student-athletes to be named CoSIDA Academic All-Americans this year.
Gustavus women's hockey players Melissa Mackley and Kirstin Peterson were named to the American Hockey Coaches Association All-America team today. The announcement was made at the Women's Division III Frozen Four in Middlebury, Vermont. Mackley and Peterson, who were both First Team All-MIAC selections, are being honored on the All-America Team for the first time.
Women’s Hockey Falls To UW-River Falls 2-1 in NCAA Quarterfinal GameThe Gustavus women's hockey team saw its 2009 season come to a close with a disappointing 2-1 loss to UW-River Falls in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday afternoon in St. Peter. Kayleigh Bell scored the game-winning goal for the Falcons on the power play at 11:30 of the third period. UW-River Falls now advances to play Elmira in a NCAA Semifinal game next Friday, March 20 in Middlebury, Vt. Gustavus concludes its season with a record of 22-2-4.

Women’s Hockey Defeats St. Thomas 3-0 To Claim Sixth Straight MIAC Playoff TitleThe Gustavus women's hockey team scored once in the second period and twice in the third period on its way to a 3-0 win over St. Thomas in the MIAC Playoff Championship game which was played at Don Roberts Ice Rink on the Gustavus campus. Melissa Mackley scored two goals including an empty net goal with :30 seconds left in the game, while Danielle Justice turned in a stellar performance in the nets making 23 saves and recording her sixth shutout of the season. The Gusties improve to 22-1-4 on the season.

Schwab scored two unassisted goals to help the Gusties defeat St. Olaf 5-0 in a MIAC Playoff semifinal game on Saturday in St. Peter. Schwab leads the team in goals scored this season with 14. Gustavus, which is now 21-1-4 on the season, will face St. Thomas on Wednesday in St. Peter in the MIAC Playoff Championship game.

Doig, Mackley, Peterson, Yungner Named To Women’s Hockey All-Conference TeamFour members of the Gustavus women's hockey team were named to the All-Conference Team by the league coaches on Thursday. The group includes senior forward Jessie Doig, junior forward Melissa Mackley, and sophomore defenders Sara Yungner, and Kirstin Peterson. The Gusties, who are currently ranked #1 in the USCHO.com poll, won their fifth consecutive league title with a record of 16-0-2.
The Gustavus women's hockey team scored twice in the first three minutes of the third period and held on to defeat Hamline 2-0 in St. Paul on Saturday night. The Gusties got goals from Jessie Doig and Sara Yungner, while Emily Klatt picked up the win in the nets and improved her overall mark to 11-0-0 this season. Gustavus has now compiled a record of 34-0-2 in MIAC regular season play over the past two seasons.
