Softball Opens NCAA Championship Finals Play Against Texas-Tyler On Friday Morning

The Gustavus softball team will begin its journey toward winning a Division III National Championship on Friday morning in Montclair, New Jersey. The Gusties will play the University of Texas at Tyler at 11 am (10 am Central Time). Live video, live audio, and live stats are available for the game which will be played at the Montclair State University Softball Field.

Women’s Golf Moves To Fourth Place At NCAA Championships After Second Day

The Gustavus women's golf team moved up to fourth place at the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships on Thursday at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida after shooting a team score of 324. The Gusties have a two-day total of 322-324--646, which is 15 strokes behind first place Methodist University at 321-310--631. Individually, Kali Griggs is in a four-way tie for ninth place after shooting a second round 80 for a two-day total of 77-80--157.

Women’s Golf Tied For Fifth Place After First Day Of NCAA Championships

The Gustavus women's golf team is in a three-way tie for fifth place after the first day of the NCAA Division III Championships which are being held at the PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida. The Gusties were sparked by the play of Kali Griggs, who fired a five-over par round of 77. Gustavus, which shot a first round team score of 322 trails first place University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, which shot a 312, by 10 shots.

Mike DesLauriers And Nate Ruff Receive MIAC Post-Season Honors

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference baseball coaches recently released their post-season awards and Gustavus Adolphus College seniors Mike DesLauriers (Minnetonka, Minn.) and Nate Ruff (Bloomington, Minn.) were recognized with awards. DesLauriers, a shortstop, was named to the All-Conference Team for the second time in his career, while Ruff was named to the Sportsmanship Team.

Sam Broderius Named Outstanding Women’s Field Athlete At MIAC Championships

Gustavus Adolphus sophomore Sam Broderius (Hector, Minn.) has been named the Outstanding Women's Field Athlete at the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships after winning titles in the discus and the shot put. Broderius captured the shot put title with a NCAA provisional distance of 44 feet, 8 3/4 inches and the discus title with a NCAA provisional distance of 148 feet, 3 inches.

Tom Thorkelson Named MIAC Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Coach of the Year

Gustavus Adolphus College women's track and field coach Tom Thorkelson has been selected as the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Outdoor Track and Field Coach of the Year. Thorkelson led the Gusties to a second-place finish at the MIAC Championships last weekend. Gustavus won seven individual events as it compiled 173 points, which is the highest point total in program history.

Women’s Golf Set To Tee Off At NCAA Championships

The Gustavus women's golf team is prepared to tee off at the NCAA Championships on Wednesday in Port St. Lucie, Florida at 12:50 p.m. (EST) along with Amherst and Middlebury. The 72-hole tournament, which will be played at the The PGA Golf Club, starts Wednesday, May 13 and concludes on Saturday, May 16. The Gusties are making their sixth consecutive appearance in the NCAA Championships.

Cole Carlson Wins 400 Meters To Highlight Men’s Track and Field Performance At MIAC Championships

Junior Cole Carlson won the 400 meter dash with a NCAA provisional school record time of 48.03 to help the Gustavus men's track and field team finish in seventh place with 65.5 points at the MIAC Championships hosted by Carleton College. Senior Tyler Geyen earned second in the 110 meter hurdles with a NCAA provisional time of 14.50 and fifth in the javelin at a distance of 172 feet, 7 inches. St. Thomas claimed the team championship with 182 points, while Saint John's finished second with 125 points.

Softball Defeats Webster 11-1 To Win NCAA Regional And Advance To Division III Finals

The Gustavus softball team defeated Webster University 11-1 in five innings on Sunday afternoon to win the NCAA Midwest Regional and advance to the Division III Finals for the first time in the program's history. The Gusties (39-7) will now face the Univ. of Texas-Tyler on Friday, May 15 at 11 am (EST).

Women’s Tennis Advances To NCAA Championship Finals With 5-0 Win Over Wheaton In Regional Final

The Gustavus women's tennis team advanced to the NCAA Championship Finals with a 5-0 win over Wheaton College at the Swanson Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon. The Gusties won all three doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead and then added singles wins from Marianne Barau at the #5 position and Ali O'Neal at the #5 position to close out the match at 5-0. This is the 21st consecutive year that Gustavus has advanced to the NCAA Championship Finals.
