Gustavus' Skylar Davis and Danielle Justice earned Athlete of the Month honors for their outstanding performance in the month of January. Davis is a senior swimmer from Palatine, Ill., and Justice is a junior goaltender on the women's hockey team from Alexandria, Minn.

Gustavus returned to MIAC play with a convincing 8-1 win over St. Ben’s in St. Cloud. The Gusties led 1-0 after one period and 3-0 after two periods before exploding for five goals in the third period on their way to the impressive victory.

Women’s Hockey Skates To 0-0 Draw With Trinity

In a game that pitted two of the top women's hockey teams in NCAA Division III, seventh-ranked Gustavus Adolphus College skated to a 0-0 tie with eighth-ranked Trinity College on Friday night at Don Roberts Ice Rink in St. Peter, Minn. Both teams had numerous scoring opportunities throughout the 65 minutes of play, but outstanding goaltending by Gustavus' Danielle Justice and Trinity's Alexa Pujol thwarted every scoring chance which led to the draw.

The Gustavus women's hockey team moved into sole possession of first place in the MIAC with a hard-fought 1-0 win over St. Thomas on Saturday afternoon at Don Roberts Ice Rink in St. Peter. Tam Meuwissen scored the game-winner for the Gusties when she tipped a blast by Kirstin Peterson from the blue line past Tommie goaltender Alise Riedel at the 16:07 mark of the first period.

The Gustavus women's hockey team suffered its first loss of the 2010-11 season falling to St. Thomas 1-0 in Mendota Heights. Danielle Justice made 23 saves in goal for the Gusties.
