Shooting Woes Continue As Women’s Basketball Team Falls To Carleton 51-46

The Gustavus women's basketball team shot an ice-cold 25.0 percent from the field (17-of-68) against Carleton on Wednesday night and the result was a 51-46 loss to the Knights in Northfield. The Gusties battled for the entire 40 minutes and led for a good portion of the second half, but just could not make enough shots to secure the victory. Molly Geske and Molly Mathiowetz each scored nine points to lead Gustavus, which fell to 10-5 overall and 8-4 in the MIAC.

Emily Nelson scored a layup with :02.2 to allow the Gustavus women's basketball team to claim a thrilling come-from-behind 57-56 win over Bethel University in Arden Hills on Wednesday night. The Gusties, who trailed by 10 points with 6:40 left in the game, did not hold a lead in the second half until Nelson's basket in the final seconds. Nelson led Gustavus in scoring with 15 points.

Women’s Basketball Lets Game Slip Away in Final Minute, Falls To Hamline 63-58

The Gustavus women's basketball started its series of eight consecutive road games on a sour note with a disappointing 63-58 loss at Hamline on Saturday afternoon. The Gusties led 58-57 with 1:27 left in the game, however the Pipers scored the final six points of the game to hand the Gusties their second conference loss of the season (8-3 overall, 6-2 MIAC). Bri Radtke led Gustavus in scoring with 13 points.

The Gustavus women's baskeball team broke open a tight game with a 17-0 run to start the second half and claimed a convincing 57-40 win over St. Olaf in St. Peter on Wednesday night. The Gusties, who improve to 8-2 overall and 6-1 in the MIAC, were led by Molly Mathiowetz with 15 points.

Women’s Basketball Falls Out Of First Place With 88-71 Loss At Macalester

The Gustavus women's basketball team ran into a hot-shooting Macalester squad and lost its first conference game of the year by the score of 88-71 in St. Paul. The Scots shot 61.5 percent from the field (16-26) and made 19-of-29 free throws in the second half to pull away from the Gusties who fell out of first place with the loss. Ann Baltzer led the Scots with 26 points, while Emily Nelson led Gustavus with 19 points.

Women’s Basketball Slips Past St. Kate’s 57-54 To Stay Unbeaten In MIAC Play

The Gustavus women's basketball team rallied in the final minute of play to nip St. Kate's 57-54 in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game at Gus Young Court in St. Peter on Saturday afternoon. The Gusties did not hold a lead in the game until Molly Geske hit two free throws with :42 left in regulation play which put Gustavus up 55-54. Bri Radtke and Julia Schultz each made one free throw in the final :19 to allow the Gusties to remain undefeated in league play at 5-0.

The Gustavus women's basketball team lost a non-conference contest to Wartburg College 72-68 in Waverly, Iowa on Sunday night. It was the Gusties first loss of the season. Katie Layman led Gustavus in scoring with 17 points.

The Gustavus women's basketball team held off a furious second half rally by Augsburg and claimed a 61-59 win in Minneapolis on Wednesday night. The Gusties are now 6-0 overall and 4-0 in the MIAC. Bri Radtke led the Gusties in scoring with 11 points.
