Women’s Hockey Claims Seventh Straight With 2-1 Victory Over UW-Superior

The #8 Gustavus women's hockey team escaped with a 2-1 victory over #9 UW-Superior Tuesday night at Don Roberts Ice Rink in St. Peter, Minn. Gustavus led 1-0 until the 11:55 mark in the third period as UW-Superior scored on a power play goal by Ashlee Olson. Gustavus answered 20 seconds later on a goal by Meagan Wanecke and held on for the remainder of the game to secure the 2-1 victory.

Men’s Hockey Prepared For NCAA Quarterfinal Game Against UW-Superior On Saturday

The Gustavus men's hockey team (17-10-0) will face UW-Superior (23-3-3) in the quarterfinal round in the NCAA Division III Men's Ice Hockey Tournament on Saturday night at 7 pm at Superior, Wis. Men’s Hockey Suffers 5-4 Overtime Loss to No. 2 UW-Superior

Second-ranked UW-Superior's Chris Wilson scored his second goal of the game with 00:44 remaining in overtime as the Yellowjackets came from behind to defeat the Gustavus men's hockey team 5-4 at Don Roberts Ice Rink on Friday night. The Gusties held a 4-3 lead late in the third period when Talon Berlando tied the score with 1:34 left in regulation to send the game into extra frames. Gustavus fell to 8-6-0 overall, while UW-Superior improved its overall mark to 14-1-1.

No. 2 Gustavus Upset By No. 6 UW-Superior 3-1 In NCAA Quarterfinals

No. 6 UW-Superior upended No. 2 Gustavus Adolphus 3-1 in a NCAA Quarterfinal game on Saturday afternoon at Don Roberts Ice Rink in St. Peter, Minn. Shana Katz scored the eventual game-winning goal at 14:36 in the second period, while Melissa Kunzelman made 28 saves for the Yellowjackets. UW-Superior, which is on a 15-game winning streak, improved to 23-4-1, as Gustavus finishes its season 25-3-0 for the second consecutive season.

Gustavus and UW-Superior Face Off In NCAA Women’s Hockey First-Round

The Gustavus Adolphus College and the University of Wisconsin at Superior women's hockey teams will face off in the first round of the NCAA Women's Hockey Tournament on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Don Roberts Ice Rink in St. Peter, Minn. The second-ranked Golden Gusties enter the contest at 25-2-0, while the sixth-ranked Yellowjackets come in at 22-4-1 overall. Women’s Hockey Faces UW-Superior In First Round Of NCAA Tournament

The Gustavus women's hockey team received word on Monday that it would host a first round contest in the 2007-08 NCAA Division III National Tournament. Coach Mike Carroll's squad, which has compiled a record of 25-2-0, received an automatic bid in the tournament after winning the MIAC Playoff Championship game last Wednesday. The Gusties will host the University of Wisconsin in Superior on Saturday, March 15 at 2 p.m.

Lisa Sablak's (Fy., South St. Paul, Minn.) fourth goal of the season helped the #8-Gustavus women's hockey team pick up its biggest win of the season in a 2-1 decision over #9-UW Superior on Friday night in St. Peter. The Golden Gusties outshot the Yellowjackets 44-8, but found themselves trailing 1-0 after the first period. UW-Superior lost its first game of the season when leading after the first period.

Men’s Hockey Falls to UW-Superior 5-3

The Gustavus men's hockey team took a 2-0 lead after one period on a pair of power-play goals by senior defensemen Keith Detlefsen, but could not hold on for the win, falling to UW-Superior, 5-3, Saturday night in Superior,Wis. UW-Superior scored four straight goals in the second period to take the lead and added an empty net goal late in the third to secure the victory and hand the Gusties (3-1) their first loss of the season.
