Baseball Opens Season With Split Against UW-Oshkosh
The 2010 Gustavus baseball team opened the season in the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome with a series split with UW-Oshkosh on Sunday evening. The Gusties dropped game one to the Titans 10-9 in extra innings, but came back to win the second game of the doubleheader 2-1. Gustavus is now 1-1 on the season, while UW-Oshkosh moves to 3-3.
Gustavus Gymnastics Team Set To Host 2010 WIAC Gymnastics Championship
The Gustavus Adolphus gymnastics team is set to host the 2010 WIAC Women's Gymnastics Championship, which will be held on Sunday, March 7, at 3:00 pm in St. Peter, Minn. This will be the 37th WIAC Gymnastics Championship. The event will take place in the Lund Center Forum. Ticket prices are $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for students. Children 10 under and adults 65 and older are free.
Gymnastics Opens Season With 172.050-163.575 Loss To UW-Oshkosh
The Gustavus Gymnastics team opened the 2010 season with a 172.050-163.575 loss to UW-Oshkosh in the Lund Center Forum on Saturday night. Danielle Thibodeau was the top Gustavus performer by winning both the floor exercise and the vault with marks of 9.150 and 9.475, respectively. Thibodeau took second in the all-around (34.075), while UW-Oshkosh's Stacie Jenkins took first with a score of 34.300.
Men’s Swimming Takes First At Falcon Invitational
The Gustavus men's swimming team took first place at the Falcon Invitational held in the University of Minnesota's Aquatics Center on Friday and Saturday. Skylar Davis was the top Gustavus swimmer, winning the 200 and 500 freestyle, and the 400 IM. The Gusties registered 995 points in the two-day swim meet.
Women’s Swimming Places Second At Falcon Invitational
The Gustavus women's swimming and diving team placed second at the Falcon Invitational held on Friday and Saturday in the University of Minnesota's Aquatics Center in Minneapolis, Minn. Ten teams competed in the two day event, as Gustavus totaled 665.5 points with UW-Eau Claire taking first with 937 points.
Women’s Gymnastics Comes From Behind To Defeat UW-Oshkosh 172.825-172.775
The Gustavus women's gymnastics team overcame a 0.925 point deficit in the final rotation to defeat host UW-Oshkosh 172.825-172.775 on Saturday afternoon. The Gusties posted a score of 43.575 on the balance beam as seniors Laura Hansen, Meghan Johnson, and Jaime Tsurusaki recorded scores over 9.0 to overtake the Titans. Tsurusaki registered the highest score of the day after earning 9.150 on the beam.

The Gustavus women's gymnastics team closed out the meet with a 44.65 on the floor exercise and it proved to be just enough to edge UW-Oshkosh 177.150 to 176.950 in a dual meet that was held in the Lund Center Forum on the Gustavus campus in St. Peter, Minn. Jennifer Berglund led the Gusties with a first place finish on the floor exercise with a score of 9.225.
Men’s Soccer Team Set To Face Whitworth in 1st Round of NCAA Tournament
The Gustavus men's soccer team will face Whitworth University in the First Round of the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Tournament on Friday, Nov. 9 at 5:00 pm (Central Standard Time) at J.J. Keller Field in Titan Stadium in Oshkosh, Wis. Gustavus, which shared the MIAC regular season title and won the MIAC Post-Season Tournament, enters with a mark of 16-3-1. Whitworth, which won the regular season Northwest Conference title, enters with a mark of 14-3-1.
Men’s Soccer Falls to UW-Oshkosh 2-0
The Gustavus men's soccer team saw its three-match winning streak come to an end with a 2-0 loss to UW-Oshkosh in Oshkosh on Sunday afternoon. The Titans scored a goal midway through each half to remain unbeaten on the season. UW-Oshkosh goalkeeper Derek Christiansen stymied the Gustie offense by making eight saves to record the shutout.
