Tyler Geyen Finishes Fourth In 110-Meter Hurdles, 4×400 Relay Places Fifth At NCAA Championships
Senior Tyler Geyen finished fourth in the 110-meter hurdles and the 4x400 meter relay team placed fifth at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Marietta, Ohio on Saturday. Geyen crossed the finish line with a time of 14.53 seconds, while the 4x400 meter relay team clocked a time of 3:12.72. The Gusties finished the meet tied for 36th place with nine points from both performances.
4×400 Relay Sets School Record At Drake Relays, Geyen Finishes 9th In 110 Hurdles
Gustavus senior Tyler Geyen finished third in his heat of the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.66 at the prestigious Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa on Friday. Geyen narrowly missed qualifying for the finals as he was ninth overall and the top Division III finisher in the preliminaries. The 4x400 relay team of Geyen, Matt Leeb, Cole Carlson, and Colby Citrowske posted a time of 3:16.63 to finish fourth in its heat and 10th overall.
Lisa Brown, Tyler Geyen, and 4×400 Men’s Relay Team To Compete At Drake Relays
Five track and field athletes will represent Gustavus at the prestigious Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa on Friday. Senior Lisa Brown (Lake Crystal, Minn.) is the lone Division III competitor entered in the javelin, which will take place at 2 p.m. on Friday. Last year, Brown finished seventh with a mark of 156-6. Senior Tyler Geyen (Watertown, Minn.) will compete in the 110-meter hurdles preliminaries at 11:35 a.m. with the final taking place on Saturday at 3:49 p.m.
Tyler Geyen Named MIAC Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week
Gustavus Adolphus senior track athlete Tyler Geyen (Watertown, Minn./Watertown-Mayer) was named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 20, 2009. Geyen took first place in the 110-meter hurdles with a NCAA provisional qualifying time of 14.62 at the Carleton Relays in Northfield on Saturday. His performance helped the Gusties win the meet with 163 points.
Men’s Indoor Track and Field Competes At MSU Open
Members of the Gustavus men's indoor track and field team competed at the MSU Open hosted by Minnesota State University, Mankato on Saturday. Tyler Geyen (Sr., Watertown, Minn.) turned in the top individual performance by a Gustie as he won the 60 meter hurdles in 8.30 seconds for the second straight meet. Geyen also finished 12th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.23. No team scores were kept during the meet.
Track And Field Members Compete At Minnesota Open, Tyler Geyen Wins 60 Meter Hurdles
Three members of the Gustavus track and field team finished in the top five at the University of Minnesota Open featuring athletes from Division I, II, and III on Saturday in Minneapolis. Senior Tyler Geyen (Watertown, Watertown-Mayer) turned in the top performance finishing first in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.34 seconds, 0.07 seconds short of meeting a NCAA provisional qualifying standard.
Tyler Geyen Named MIAC Field Athlete of the Week
Gustavus Adolphus College junior Tyler Geyen (Watertown, Minn.) has been named the MIAC Field Athlete of the Week by the conference track and field coaches. Geyen won the 110 meter hurdles in a NCAA provisionally qualifying time of 14.77 Sunday at the Meet of the UnSaintly. This time ranks him second in the MIAC this season. Geyen also placed third in the javelin with a personal best throw of 51.91m (169' 11 3/4").
Tyler Geyen Shines in Hurdles and Javelin As Men’s Track and Field Team Finishes Eighth At Carleton Relays
Tyler Geyen finished second in the 110 meter high hurdles and fifth in the javelin to help lead the Gustavus men's track and field team to an eighth place finish (out of 16) at the Carleton Relays in Northfield, Minn. on Saturday. The Gusties scored in 10 different events on their way to posting a team total of 37 points. Saint John's finished first with 126 points.
