Softball Tops Saint Mary’s 11-5, Falls 10-2 To St. Thomas In MIAC Championship

The Gustavus softball team defeated Saint Mary's 11-5, yet fell to St. Thomas 10-2 in the MIAC Playoff Championship on Saturday afternoon in St. Paul. The Gustavus softball team finishes the 2011 season with an overall record of 27-14-1.

Women’s Tennis Closes Weekend With 8-1 Win Over St. Thomas, 9-0 Win Over Macalester

The Gustavus women’s tennis team brought the weekend to a close with a pair of conference victories over St. Thomas and Macalester on Sunday, May 1. The Gusties got the day started with an 8-1 win over St. Thomas at the White Bear Lake Racquet Club in the morning, then traveled to St. Paul where they defeated Macalester 9-0 in the evening. The Gusties went 3-0 over the weekend, improving to 16-9 overall and 9-0 in the MIAC.

MacKenzie Dalton went 1-for-2 with two RBI in game two. 

Softball Swept By MIAC Leader St. Thomas

The Gustavus softball team dropped its first MIAC doubleheader of the season with 8-0 and 10-3 losses to St. Thomas on Thursday in St. Paul. Gustavus falls to 16-11-1 overall and 9-2-1 in the MIAC, while St. Thomas improves to 30-4 overall and 16-0 in the MIAC.

 

Men’s Indoor Track & Field Finishes Third At MIAC Championships

The Gustavus men’s indoor track and field team recorded a three-day total of 75.5 points to finish third at the 2011 MIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships held this weekend in St. Paul.

 

Women’s Indoor Track & Field Places Third At MIAC Championships

The Gustavus women’s indoor track and field team compiled a total of 88 points to tie for third place alongside Hamline at the 2011 MIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships held this weekend in St. Paul.

 

Women’s Basketball Goes Down To The Wire With St. Thomas, Falls 50-48 In MIAC Semifinals

The Gustavus women's basketball team's season came to an end with a 50-48 loss at the hands on St. Thomas in the MIAC Semifinals on Thursday night in St. Paul. St. Thomas' Taylor Young was the hero with the game-winning jumper with just five seconds remaining in the game. Molly Mathiowetz led the Gusties with a game-high 22 points and eight boards.

Gustavus will challenge top-seed St. Thomas in the MIAC Playoff Semifinals. 

Women’s Basketball Set To Battle St. Thomas In MIAC Semifinals

The Gustavus women's basketball team will travel to St. Paul to take on #1 seed St. Thomas in the MIAC Playoff Semifinals on Thursday night at 7:30 p.m.

Women’s Swimming & Diving Defeats St. Thomas And Hamline In Double-Dual

The Gustavus women’s swimming and diving team came away with a pair of wins against St. Thomas and Hamline in Saturday’s double-dual held in the Lund Natatorium in St. Peter, Minn. The Gusties defeated St. Thomas 183-116 and Hamline 245-27. Dajana Vidovic was the top Gustavus swimmer with two individual first place finishes, as Gustavus recorded 10 event wins.

Men’s Swimming & Diving Defeats Hamline And Falls To St. Thomas In Double-Dual

The Gustavus men’s swimming and diving team fell 168-137 to St. Thomas, yet defeated Hamline 240-38 in Saturday’s double-dual held in the Lund Natatorium in St. Peter, Minn. Whitaker Davis and Billy Schultze were the top Gusties swimmers at the meet, recording three individual event wins each. The Gusties registered 10 individual event wins on the day.
