Gustavus Adolphus senior student-athletes Sam Frank, Katie Schenfeld, and Sara Yungner have earned a spot on the CoSIDA Capital One At-Large Academic All-District Region Five First Team for their performance both in the classroom and on the playing surface.

Sara Yungner Named Elite 88 Award Winner At NCAA Women’s Hockey Championship

Gustavus senior defender Sara Yungner (Maple Grove, Minn./Wayzata) was named the winner of the 2011 Elite 88 Award at the NCAA Women's Ice Hockey Championship banquet in Rochester, New York on Thursday night. The Elite 88 Award honors the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade point average participating at the finals site of each of the NCAA's national championships.

Three Women’s Hockey Players Named All-Conference, Carroll Honored As Coach Of The Year

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's hockey coaches recently released its 2010-11 Post-Season Awards and Gustie players Kirstin Peterson, Lindsey Hjelm, and Amanda Cartony were named to the All-Conference Team, while Mike Carroll was named Coach of the Year.

Women’s Hockey Wins 6-0 Over Augsburg On Senior Night, Secures MIAC Championship

The Gustavus women's hockey team picked up goals from five different players on the way to a 6-0 win over Augsburg in St. Peter on Friday night. With the win, the Gusties secured their seventh consecutive MIAC championship.

Women’s Hockey Holds On For 4-3 Win Over UW-Stevens Point

The Gustavus women's hockey team built a 4-1 lead and then held off a late UW-Stevens Point rally to claim a 4-3 win at Don Roberts Ice Rink in St. Peter on Tuesday night. Junior defender Sara Yungner led Gustavus with two goals, while first year forward Tam Meuwissen tallied the game-winner at the 6:35 mark of the third period. Emily Klatt claimed the win in goal for the Gusties who improved to 13-4-2 on the season.
