Baseball Doubleheader at Saint John’s Moved to Sunday, April 15

The oft rescheduled MIAC baseball doubleheader between Gustavus Adolphus and Saint John's has been moved from Friday, April 13 to Sunday, April 15. First pitch will be at 1 p.m. from Collegeville. Gustavus' home conference doubleheader against Augsburg will be played as scheduled Saturday, April 14 with first pitch for game one at 1 p.m. in St. Peter.

Men’s Basketball Falls to Saint John’s in MIAC Semifinals 87-65

The Gustavus Adolphus men's basketball fell to Saint John's 87-65 in a MIAC Playoff semifinal game Wednesday evening at Sexton Arena in Collegeville. Gustavus, which closes its season at 14-13 overall, was led by a game-high 17 points from Andrew Doble.

Men’s Basketball Downed by Saint John’s 100-66

The Gustavus Adolphus men's basketball team dropped to 10-9 overall and 8-6 in the MIAC, falling to Saint John's 100-66 Saturday afternoon in Collegeville. The match-up between two the MIAC's top programs turned into a rout as the Johnnies (15-4, 13-1 MIAC) shot a sizzling 64.6 percent from the field and held a 36-14 rebounding advantage. Tyler Westman led five Johnnies in double figures with a game-high 19 points, while Phil Sowden led the Gusties with 18.

Football Downed by #3 Saint John’s 34-7

The Gustavus Adolphus football team scored the game's inital touchdown, but #3 Saint John's responded with 34 consecutive points, pulling away for a 34-7 victory at Clemens Stadium in Collegeville Saturday. Jordan Stolp found Chad Arlt from five yards out in the first quarter for the Gusties' lone score. Gustavus (2-4 overall, 2-3 MIAC) will look to get back on the winning track next weekend when they travel to Macalester (1-4 overall) for a non-conference game.

Men’s Golf Ties for Fourth at Saint John’s Invitational

The Gustavus Adolphus men's golf team fired a second-round 308 to finish tied with UW-Eau Claire for fourth place at the Saint John's Invitational Sunday at Blackberry Ridge G.C. in Sartell. The Gustie Gold squad and the Blugolds each shot 36-hole team totals of 623 to finish eight strokes behind the Blue squad from host Saint John's. The Gustie Black squad finished finished tied for 12th (655).

Men’s Hockey Closes Out Regular Season With 4-2 Loss at Saint John’s

The Gustavus men's hockey team needed a win Saturday at Saint John's in order to have any chance of avoiding the play-in game of the MIAC Men's Hockey Playoffs or at least ensure that they would host, but could not pick up the weekend split with the Johnnies, falling 4-2 Saturday afternoon at the National Hockey Center in St. Cloud. Saint John's opened up a 4-0 lead after the second period and held on for the victory.

Men’s Hockey Downed by Saint John’s 5-2 in Final Regular Season Home Game

The Gustavus men's hockey team saw its chances for a home game in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Semifinals dashed Friday night with a 5-2 loss at the hands of Saint John's at Don Roberts Ice Rink in St. Peter. With 18 points, the highest the Gusties (14-9-1/9-6-0 MIAC) can finish is third in the MIAC. Saint John's (15-6-3/10-3-2 MIAC) is assurred of a home semifinal game in next week's MIAC Playoffs.

St. Olaf Edges Men’s Nordic Ski 125-122 at NCAA Qualifer #4

The Gustavus men's Nordic ski team finished second in both disciplines at last weekend's Minnesota College Nordic Ski Championships held at the Saint John's Trails in Collegeville. St. Olaf took the team title, edging the Gusties 125-122. Andy Rishavy and Erich Ziegler finished second and third respectively to lead the Gusties in Saturday's 10K Classic, while Ziegler picked up the win in Sunday's 17K Skate. The event also served as the fourth of five CCSA/NCAA Regional qualifiers.

Daw Sweep Leads Women’s Nordic Ski to Team Title at NCAA Qualifier #4

Led by wins by Chandra Daw in both the Classic and Freestyle races, the Gustavus women's Nordic ski team captured the team title at the Minnesota College Nordic Ski Championships held at the Saint John's Trails in Collegeville last weekend. Gustavus (133 points) finished ahead of St. Olaf (121) and UW-Green Bay (103). The event also serves as the fourth of five CCSA/NCAA Regional qualifiers.

Men’s Swimming and Diving Sprints Past Saint John’s 187-85

Led by four wins by junior Scott Hagemeyer (two individual, two relay) and three others by Billy Cuevas, the Gustavus men's swimming and diving team captured wins in 14 of 16 events en route to a 187-85 dual win over Saint John's Saturday afternoon in St. Peter. The Gusties, who set a pair of Lund Natatorium records in the win, improve to 7-0 in duals this season.
