Baseball Set to Compete in MIAC Post-Season Tournament
The Gustavus Adolphus College baseball team is the #4 seed in the four-team MIAC Post-season tournament, which will take place at both Sechler Park in Northfield and Memorial Park in Dundas this Friday-Sunday. The winner of the tournament will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Gusties will open tournament play on Friday against St. Thomas, the tournament's top seed, Friday at Memorial Park in Dundas. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
Baseball Drops Pair at MIAC Tournament, Ends Season at 21-15
The Gustavus Adolphus College baseball team closed out its season Friday with a pair of losses at the MIAC Baseball Tournament in Dundas and Northfield. Gustavus, the fourth seed, fell to top-seeded St. Thomas 9-3 and then dropped a 4-3 decision to Saint John's in an elimination game Friday evening. The Gusties finish the year at 21-15 overall and took fourth in the MIAC with a 14-6 mark.
Men’s Tennis Wins MIAC Tournament, Secures Spot in NCAA Championships
The Gustavus Adolphus College men's tennis team posted wins over Concordia (9-0) and Carleton (6-3) Saturday in St. Peter to capture the MIAC Tournament title and lock down one of 41 spots in the 2007 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championships. Selections for this year's national meet will be disclosed Monday, April 30.
Men’s Basketball Drops 58-52 Decision to St. Olaf
The Gustavus Adolphus men's basketball team fell to 13-11 overall and 11-8 in the MIAC with a 58-52 loss to St. Olaf in its regular-season home finale Wednesday at Gus Young Court. The Gusties led 30-21 at halftime but were outshot 51.9% to 33.3% and outrebounded 22-13 by the Oles in the second half. Gustavus' Trevor Wittwer led all players with 19 points on 8-of-11 shooting.
