Men’s Basketball Topped By Hamline 69-66
Hamline’s Carl Hipp scored 20 points on 7-for-8 shooting in the second half to lead the Pipers past the Gustavus men’s basketball team 69-66 on Saturday afternoon in St. Paul. Hipp scored Hamline’s final six points of the game, giving the Pipers the three point victory and moving them into third place in the MIAC standings. Hamline improves to 15-7 overall and 11-6 in the MIAC, while the Gusties fall to 13-8 overall and 11-5 in the MIAC.
Poor Shooting Sinks Men’s Basketball In 60-55 Loss To Carleton
The Gustavus men's basketball team suffered a heart-breaking loss to Carleton 60-55 on Gus Young Court Monday night. Carleton's Seth Jonker scored a game-high 17 points while shooting 7-14 from the field. The Gusties shot 38.5% from the field and a cold 12.5% from behind the arc. Carleton shot 48.9% from the field and 33.3% from three point range.
Men’s Basketball Gets Back On Track With 76-65 Win Over Saint John’s
The Gustavus men's basketball team got back on the winning track with a 76-65 victory over Saint John's Monday night in Collegeville, Minn. Four Gustavus players scored in double-digits as Phil Wirtjes and Ryan McPartland led the team with 15 points each. Saint John's Sam Blank scored a game-high 18 points while shooting 6-8 from behind the arch.

The Gustavus men's basketball team suffered it's first MIAC setback Saturday afternoon in Arden Hills, Minn. with a 54-53 loss to Bethel. Ryan McPartland scored a game-high 15 points and nine rebounds. Gustavus drops to 10-4 overall and 8-1 in the MIAC.
Seth Anderson Leads Men’s Basketball To 56-51 Upset Win Over #5 St. Thomas
Sophomore Seth Anderson scored 13 points in the the second half to lead the Gustavus men's basketball team to a 56-51 upset win over #5 St. Thomas Wednesday night in St. Peter, Minn. Anderson scored eight of the Gusties final 13 points, including six free throws in the final five minutes of play. The Gusties snapped a St. Thomas 32-game MIAC win steak with the victory and are now alone atop the MIAC standings.
Late Second Half Surge Gives Men’s Basketball 73-66 Win Over Hamline
The Gustavus men's basketball team remained undefeated with a 73-66 victory over Hamline on Saturday afternoon in St. Peter, Minn. The Gustavus bench outscored Hamline's 21-2 in the second half. Phil Wirtjes and Seth Anderson led the Gusties in scoring with 16 and 15 points, respectively.

The Gustavus men's basketball team cruised to a 70-38 victory over Macalester College on Monday night in St. Paul, Minn. Phil Wirtjes and Ryan McPartland were Gustavus's leading scorers with 11 and 10 points, respectively. The Gusties shot 51% (25-49) from the field in the game, as Macalester shot 35.6% (16-45).
Men’s Basketball Defeats Augsburg In Overtime 77-72
The Gustavus men's basketball team got it's fourth straight MIAC win on Wednesday night in Minneapolis, Minn., with a 77-72 overtime victory over Augsburg. Two free throws by Phil Wirtjes with three seconds left in regulation would send the game into overtime. The Gusties would then go on to shoot 4-4 from the field and 9-13 from the line in overtime, giving them the five-point victory. Seth Anderson and Ryan McPartland led all scorers with 18 and 17 points, respectively.

Gustavus Adolphus junior guard Phil Wirtjes hit a half court shot with less than one second to play, giving the Gusties a 57-54 victory over Concordia on Saturday afternoon in St. Peter, Minn. Wirtjes finished the game with six points as the Gusties were led in scoring by Ryan McPartland who went 8-12 from the field for 17 points.
