Women’s Basketball Defeats Bethel 67-63 In First Round Of MIAC Playoffs

The Gustavus women's basketball team defeated Bethel 67-63 in the MIAC Playoff Quarterfinals on Tuesday night in St. Peter, Minn. The Gusties were led in scoring by Molly Mathiowetz who had 16 points. Gustavus moves on to play #1 seed St. Thomas in the semifinals on Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. in St. Paul.

The Gustavus women's basketball team defeated St. Catherine 77-63 on Wednesday night in St. Paul. Molly Mathiowetz, who scored her 1000th career point in the game, had a game-high 18 points alongside Molly Geske who also added 18. The Gusties improve to 14-8 overall and 13-6 in the MIAC with the victory.

The Gustavus women’s basketball team defeated Carleton by the score of 71-61 on Saturday afternoon in Northfield, Minn. With the victory, Gustavus improves to 13-8 overall and 12-6 in the MIAC, while Carleton falls to 5-15 overall and 4-13 in the MIAC.

The Gustavus women's basketball team prevailed 59-53 over a hot shooting Hamline squad on Wednesday night in St. Peter, Minn. Molly Geske led the Gusties in scoring with 17 points, while Hamline's Kara Poirier scored a game-high 26 points. With the victory, Gustavus improves to 11-6 in the MIAC and 12-8 overall. Hamline falls to 7-10 in the MIAC and 8-12 overall.

Gustavus extends its winning-streak to five games with the victory, improving to 10-7 overall and 9-5 in the MIAC, while St. Olaf falls to 9-8 overall and 6-8 in the MIAC.

The Gustavus women's basketball team completed a three-game road stand with a 64-49 victory over Saint Mary's on Saturday afternoon in Winona, Minn. Molly Mathiowetz led the way with a game-high 19 points, as Gustavus has won its last four games.
