Nolan Larson Earns Second MIAC Swimmer Of The Week Honor
Gustavus first-year standout Nolan Larson (West Des Moines, Iowa) continued to impress Saturday at the Grace Goblirsch Memorial Invitational, hosted by Gustavus. Larson was a member of the winning 200 medley and 200 freestyle relay teams, touching the wall in 1:40.83 and 1:28.31, respectively. Larson also won two individual races – the 500 freestyle in 4:57.28 and the 200 IM in 2:01.84.
MIAC Names Carrie Gundersen Swimmer of the Week
Gustavus senior Carrie Gundersen has been named MIAC Women's Swimmer of the Week for her efforts in last weekend's Falcon Invitational held at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center. Gundersen won both the 500 and 1650 freestyle and placed second in the 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relay. All four times are the fastest in the MIAC so far this year.
Carrie Gundersen Named MIAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week
Gustavus Adolphus College sophomore Carrie Gundersen (Minnetonka, Minn.) has been named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week. Gundersen had an outstanding meet this past Friday as Gustavus defeated St. Olaf 152-148 in St. Peter. She took home first place in the 100 free (56.26), the 500 free (5:24.02), and the 1000 free (10:55.63).
Stewart Named MIAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week
Gustavus men's swimmer Matt Stewart (Fr., Burnsville, Minn.) has been named Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week. Stewart figured in three event wins and established two new pool records in the process during Gustavus' 210-80 dual win at Carleton on Saturday. Stewart won the 100 and 200 butterfly events, as well as posted a 47.5 second split in the 400 freestyle relay.
