Katie Schenfeld Earns MIAC Golfer Of The Week Honors
Gustavus Adolphus senior Katie Schenfeld (Indianola, Iowa) has been named MIAC Women's Golf Athlete of the Week for her performance at the SMSU Mustang Invite in Marshall, Minn. on Sunday, Sept. 26. Schenfeld took the tournament crown, after shooting a 75-75-150 (+6).
Kimbra Kosak Named MIAC Women’s Golf Athlete of the Week
Gustavus Adolphus College senior Kimbra Kosak (Grand Rapids, Minn.) has been named the MIAC Women's Golf Athlete of the Week by the league coaches. Kosak shot 78-75--153 to finish in fourth place in the Southwest Minnesota State Invitational in Marshall, Minn. In a field of 15 Division II teams and only two Division III teams, Kosak's nine-over-par led the Gusties to a fourth place team finish. As a team, Gustavus finished with a 322-315--637 (+61).
Groff Named MIAC Women’s Golfer of the Week
For the second time this season, Kelli Groff from Gustavus Adolphus College has earned the MIAC women's golfer of the week award. The defending MIAC champion fired a 36-hole total of two-over par 146 to win the Division III Midwest Classic. The 36-hole score is a Gustavus school record, as was her final round of even-par 72. Groff's performance helped the Gusties win the 10-team event with a school-record 36-hole total of 624, including a final-round 311, an 18-hole school record score.
