The NCAA Division III Men’s Tennis Committee has selected the 43 teams that will compete in the 2019 NCAA Division III Men’s Tennis Championships and Gustavus is headed to the University of Chicago on Saturday and Sunday to play in a six-team regional.

Eamonn McCullough (Fy., Waverly, Iowa) , Taylor Rooney (So., Andover, Minn.), and Bridger Pavelka (Jr., Minnetonka, Minn.) each placed first in their respective events to lead the team. The Gusties had eight more top-five performances.

Men’s Tennis Advances to MIAC Playoff Title Match

The No. 16 Gustavus men’s tennis team cruised to a 5-0 MIAC Semifinal win over Bethel on Thursday, advancing to championship match. The Gusties are now 18-7 overall and will host the winner of Carleton and Saint John’s at 1 p.m. Saturday for an opportunity to earn an automatic qualifier to the NCAA Championships.

Johnson Named MIAC Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week

Chase Johnson (Sr., Golden Valley, Minn.) went a perfect 6-0 in singles and doubles combined to help the Gustavus men’s tennis team claim its 31st consecutive MIAC men’s tennis championship. For his performance, Johnson was named MIAC Athlete of the Week.
