Men’s Golf In 10th Place After First Round Of Twin Cities Classic

The Gustavus men's golf team posted a score of 308 and is in 10th place out of 23 teams after the first round of the Twin Cities Classic hosted by Gustavus. Today's round was played at Elk River Country Club. Josh Curb, who is in a tie for 23rd place, led the Gusties with a score of 75. The Gustavus White team is in 14th place at 311 and the Gustavus Black team is in 21st place at 325.

Men’s Golf Finishes Fourth at Frank Wrigglesworth Invitational Hosted By UW-Eau Claire

The Gustavus men's golf team finished fourth out of 15 teams at the Frank Wriggelsworth Blugold Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire and played at the Eau Claire Country Club. The Gusties fired a 36-hole total of 304-317--621 and finished ten shots behind champion Saint John's at 301-306--607. Josh Curb led the team individually as he placed third at 76-74--150.

Men’s Golf Team In Third Place After First Day of UW-Eau Claire Invitational

The Gustavus men's golf team fired a total of 304 on the first day of the UW-Eau Claire Invitational, which was played at Eau Claire Country Club on Sunday afternoon. The Gusties were led by John Anderson who posted a score of 74 which is good for a tie for fifth place. The tournament will conclude with 18 holes on Monday morning.

Men’s Golf Team Finishes 12th at Rain Shortened Saint John’s Invitational

The Gustavus Gold team finished 12th with a total of 325, while the Black team finished 16th with a total of 333 at the Saint John's Invitational on Sunday. The tournament, which was shortened from 36 holes to 18 holes due to heavy rain on Saturday, was played at Blackberry Ridge Golf Club in Sartell, Minn. Ricky Copeland led Gustavus individually with a 77, which was good for 19th place.

Men’s Golf Rained Out At Saint John’s Invitational

The first round of the Saint John's Invitational was cancelled due to wind and rain on Saturday. The tournament will now be an 18-hole round tomorrow (Sunday, Sept. 14) at Blackberry Ridge G.C. in Sartell.

Men’s Golf Opens Season With Solid Second Place Finish at Augsburg Invitational

The Gustavus men's golf team opened its 2008 season with a second place finish out of 17 teams at the Augsburg Invitational which was played at the Oakdale Golf Club on Saturday and the Crow River Golf Club on Sunday. The Gusties posted a 36-hole team score of 294-317--611 to finish 14 shots behind first place Bethel at 289-308--597. Ricky Copeland finished second individually at 71-76--147.

Trio of Men’s Golf Athletes Earn Post-Season Awards

The Golf Coaches Association of America has released its post-season awards following the NCAA Men's Golf Championships and recognized Gustavus athletes Kyle Rohlfs (Fergus Falls, Minn.), Eric Harris (Eden Prairie, Minn.), and Jordan Hawkinson (Lindstrom, Minn.). Kyle Rohlfs was named to the PING All-America Third Team, while Eric Harris and Jordan Hawkinson were named to the PING Central All-Region Team.

Men’s Golf Finishes 19th At NCAA Championships

The Gustavus men's golf team posted a final round team score of 304 to finish in 19th place at the NCAA Championships on Friday at Chateau Elan Resort in Braselton, Georgia. The Gusties' four-day, 72-hole team total of 1245 left them four strokes ahead of Nebraska Wesleyan University (1249). Saint John's University came back from fourth place to win the team title with a four-round score of 1192 to finish three strokes ahead of the University of Redlands.

Jordan Hawkinson And Mark Stuckey Named GCAA All-America Scholars

Gustavus Adolphus College men's golfers Jordan Hawkinson (Sr., Lindstrom, Minn./Chisago Lakes), and Mark Stuckey (Sr., St. Peter, Minn.) have been recognized by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) as Division III Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars for their play on the links as well as their work in the classroom. Hawkinson leads the team with a 75.1 scoring average, while Stuckey is third (76.3) during the 2007-08 season.

Men’s Golf Climbs Up To 18th Place At NCAA Championships

The Gustavus men's golf team climbed up the leaderboard three places to stand in 18th place heading into the last round of the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships on Thursday at Chateau Elan Resort in Braselton, Georgia, by recording a team score of 304 for a three-day total of 320-317-304--941. St. John Fisher College remains the team leader by four strokes with a three-round total of 302-294-297--893.
