Eric Harris, Kali Griggs Named Golfers of the Week by the MIAC Golf Coaches

Gustavus men's golfer Eric Harris and women's golfer Kali Griggs have been named MIAC Golfers of the Week by the conference golf coaches. Harris, a senior from Eden Prairie, Minn., finished first out of 90 golfers at the Augsburg Invitational, while Griggs, a sophomore from Burnsville, Minn. (Visitation HS), finished first out of 93 competitors at the Wartburg Invitational.

Men’s Golf Opens 2007 Season With Impressive Win at Augsburg Invitational

The Gustavus men's golf team sent two teams to the Augsburg Invitational and came away with the tournament title by the Gustavus Gold squad and a fourth place finish by the Gustavus Black squad. Eric Harris, playing for the Gold squad claimed medalist honors with a 36-hole total of 72-72-144.

Men’s Golf Team Leads Augsburg Invitational After First Round

The Gustavus men's golf team shot a sizzling first round total of 290 and holds a 15 stroke lead over Saint John's II (305) after the first round of the Augsburg Invitational. Gustavus II fired a team score of 306 and is in a tie for third place one shot behind the Johnnies. The first round was played at the Crow River Golf Club in Hutchinson, Minn.

Men’s Golf Drops Dual Match To Saint John’s 289-276

The Gustavus men's golf team took two teams to Monticello Golf Club on Sunday to compete against two teams from Saint John's University in a dual match. The Saint John's Red team fired a school record score of 276 (-8) to edge both the Gustavus Black team and the Gustavus Gold team which fired identical scores of 289 (+5). Ricky Copeland, who played on the Gold team, registered the lowest score by a Gustavus golfer with a 69 (-2).

Men’s Golf Finishes Fourth at Saint John’s Invitational

The Gustavus men's golf team finished fourth out of 12 teams at the Saint John's Invitational played Sunday at Rich Spring Golf Club in Cold Spring, Minnesota. The Gusties fired a 36-hole total of 303-299--602 and finished 24 shots behind first place Saint John's. Gustavus was led individually by Eric Harris who tied for eighth place at 71-76--147.

Men’s Golf Finishes Second At Bobby Krig Invitational

The Gustavus men's golf team fired a tournament best score of 297 on the second day of the Bobby Krig Invititational and finished second with a 36-hole total of 312-297--609. Saint John's won the team title with a total of 298-303--601. Individually, Nick Profancik of Maryville University claimed medalist honors with a total of 77-70-147. Erik Tone of Gustavus (77-72--149) and Peter Vogel (74-75--149) tied for second place.

First Round Results of Bobby Krig Invitational Hosted by Gustavus Men’s Golf Team

The Gustavus men's golf team is hosting the second annual Bobby Krig Invitational on Monday, April 16 and Tuesday, April 17. Saint John's is in first place after the first day with a team score of 298. Gustavus is in seventh place with a score of 312. The first round was played at Le Sueur Country Club and the final round will be played at the Ridges at Sand Creek near Jordan, Minn.

Men’s Golf Finishes 11th at Emory University Invitational

The Gustavus men's golf team opened its spring season with an 11th place finish (out of 14 teams) at the Emory University Invitational played at Smoke Rise Golf Club in Stone Mountain, Georgia. The Gusties were led by freshman A.J. Olson who placed 36th with a 36-hole total of 74-81-155.

Men’s Golf Ties for Fourth at Saint John’s Invitational

The Gustavus Adolphus men's golf team fired a second-round 308 to finish tied with UW-Eau Claire for fourth place at the Saint John's Invitational Sunday at Blackberry Ridge G.C. in Sartell. The Gustie Gold squad and the Blugolds each shot 36-hole team totals of 623 to finish eight strokes behind the Blue squad from host Saint John's. The Gustie Black squad finished finished tied for 12th (655).

Men’s Golf Finishes Third at Augsburg Invitational

In its first competition of the fall, the Gustavus men's golf team place two teams in the top five Sunday at the Augsburg Invitational at Minnesota Dunes Golf Course in Cottage Grove. The Gold team finished third with a score of 300-304--604, while the Black team finished fifth with a score of 316-303--619. Juniors Jordan Hawkinson (Gustavus Gold) and Eric Harris (Gustavus Black) each tied for eighth with a 36-hole total of 149 to rank as the top Gusties on the medalist leaderboard.
