Gustavus Adolphus College senior wide receiver Matthew Boyce (Excelsior, Minn.) on Friday was named to the D3football.com All America Second Team. Boyce becomes the sixth Gustie football player to garner All America honors twice, as he was named to the Third Team last season.

For the second straight season, Gustavus Adolphus College football players Matthew Boyce (Sr., Excelsior, Minn.) and Mitch Hendricks (Sr., Bemidji, Minn.) have been nominated to the D3football.com All-West Region Team. Boyce has been named to the First Team, while Hendricks is on the Third Team.

Four Gustavus Adolphus College football players have the tremendous honor to represent Team USA at the 2015 Aztec Bowl, which showcases the top Division II and III players from around the country against the Mexico National team. 13 Gusties Recognized In MIAC Football Awards, Haugen Named Co-Coach-Of-The-Year

The Gustavus Adolphus College football team has a strong showing in the 2015 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Postseason Awards released Tuesday afternoon. Head Coach Peter Haugen highlights the awards as he was named Co-Coach-of-the-Year, while five Gusties were named First Team All-Conference, three were named Second Team and four earned Honorable Mention.

Football Finishes Season 7-3 After 66-9 Loss To No. 4 St. Thomas

The Gustavus football team finished its 2015 season Saturday at Hollingsworth Field with a 66-9 loss to No. 4-ranked St. Thomas. Despite the season-ending defeat, the Gusties finish with a 7-3 overall record and 5-3 in the MIAC, which marks the most victories by Gustavus since 2001. Gustavus's third place finish in the conference is also the best since 2002.

The Gustavus Adolphus football team finishes its 2015 campaign on Saturday with a 1:10 p.m. matchup against No. 4-ranked St. Thomas. The Gusties enter the game with a 7-2 overall record and 5-2 mark in the MIAC after a thrilling 41-24 come-from-behind victory over Concordia last week, while the Tommies are 9-0 overall and 7-0 in the MIAC after defeating Carleton 80-3 last week in St. Paul.

The Gustavus football team showed a never-say-die attitude Saturday afternoon at Hollingsworth Field as it came from behind to beat No. 23-ranked Concordia 41-34 in the final minute of play.

Football Loses Lead Late, Falls 33-24 At Bethel

Holding a 24-20 lead late in the fourth quarter Saturday, the Gustavus football team was not able to maintain the advantage as it allowed a pair of touchdowns in the final four minutes to lose 33-24 at Bethel University. The Gusties drop their second straight road test and now own a 6-2 overall record and 4-2 mark in the MIAC.

Football Suffers First Loss Of Season, 49-27 To Saint John’s

The No. 20-ranked Gustavus football team suffered its first loss of the season Saturday, falling 49-27 to No. 14/15-ranked Saint John’s. The Gusties drop to 6-1 overall and 4-1 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, while the Johnnies improve to 5-1 overall and 3-1 in the MIAC.
