Holtan Named AVCA All-Central Region

The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced its Division III Regional Awards on Thursday and Kate Holtan (Jr., Rochester) was named to the All-Central Region Team for the third consecutive season. Of the 14-member team, Holtan leads the group making her third appearance.

Holtan, Veldman Named October Student-Athletes of the Month

Volleyball outside hitter Kate Holtan (Jr., Rochester) and football quarterback Michael Veldman (Sr., Becker) have been named Gustavus Female and Male Student-Athletes of the Month, which is voted on by the Gustavus Sports Information Department and presented by Thrivent Financial.

Embacher and Holtan Named MIAC All-Conference

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) came out with its annual volleyball awards Wednesday, and juniors Hailey Embacher (Jr., Mankato) and Kate Holtan (Jr., Rochester) were named MIAC all-conference. It is Holtan's third consecutive all-conference honor while Embacher is making her first appearance.

The Gustavus volleyball team hosted Senior Night on Wednesday as they took on Macalester and defeated the Scots 3-0. With the win the Gusties move to 13-14 overall and 6-4 in the MIAC while Macalester falls to 4-20 and 0-10 in the conference. 

Volleyball Hosts Macalester Wednesday for Senior Night

The Gustavus volleyball team will return to Gus Young Court Wednesday when they host Macalester at 7 p.m. for Senior Night. The Gusties enter the contest 12-14 overall and 5-4 in the MIAC while the Scots enter 4-19 overall and 0-9 in the conference.

Volleyball Drops Match to No. 12 Saint Benedict 3-1

The Gustavus volleyball team traveled to St. Joseph to take on No. 12 Saint Benedict on Saturday and fell to the Bennies 3-1. With the loss the Gusties fall to 12-14 overall and 5-4 in the MIAC, while the Bennies improve to 21-3 overall and 7-2 in the conference.

The Gustavus volleyball team traveled to Concordia on Friday night and fell to the Cobbers 3-1. With the loss the Gusties fall to 12-13 overall and 5-3 in the MIAC while the Cobbers move to 6-17 overall and 3-5 in the conference.

Volleyball Hits Road for a Pair of MIAC Matches

The Gustavus volleyball team will hit the road for a pair of MIAC matches this weekend as they travel to Concordia Friday at 7 p.m. before taking on No. 12 Saint Benedict Saturday at 3 p.m. The Gusties enter the contests 12-12 overall and 5-2 in the MIAC while the Cobbers are 5-17 overall and 2-5 in the conference and the Bennies are 19-3 and 5-2 in the league.
