Billy Schultze Named January Male Student-Athlete Of The Month

The Gustavus men’s swimming and diving team had a strong showing during the month of January, which included a victory over Carleton, second place at the seven-team Grinnell Invite and tough loss at conference stronghold St. Thomas. Through wins and losses, though, senior Billy Schultze has been a consistent force for the Gustie men and for his accomplishment during the month, the Office of Sports Information has named Schultze Male Student-Athlete of the Month for January.

Alissa Tinklenberg Named January Female Student-Athlete Of The Month

The Gustavus women’s swimming & diving team took to the pool each weekend in January and never lost a competition, winning all four meets. The Gustie women have proved their great team success, but one individual in particular has shown sheer dominance every time she dives into the pool. Sophomore Alissa Tinklenberg won 15 of the 16 events she participated in during the month and for her outstanding performance, the Office of Sports Information has named Tinklenberg Female Student-Athlete of the Month for January.

Women’s Swimming & Diving Totals 1,247.5 Points To Win Grinnell Invitational

Women’s Tennis Has Strong Showing In ITA Post-Season Academic Awards

The Gustavus women’s tennis team was strongly represented by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) as a part of its post-season academic awards. The 2011 Gusties earned ITA Team Academic honors,while nine individuals took home Scholar-Athlete distinction.

Women’s Tennis Season Comes To An End With 5-0 Loss To Chicago In Regional Final

The Gustavus Adolphus women’s tennis team suffered a 5-0 loss at the hands of Chicago University in the NCAA Regional Championship held in Chicago on Sunday afternoon. Chicago moves on to play Denison in the quarterfinals of the 2011 NCAA Women’s Tennis Championship held in Claremont, Calif. May 24-26. Gustavus finishes its season with a 20-10 overall record.

Women’s Tennis Wins MIAC Playoff Title 5-2 Over Carleton

The Gustavus women's tennis team won its fifth straight MIAC Playoff Championship with 5-2 victory over Carleton on Saturday in St. Peter. With the win, Gustavus improves to 19-9 on the season and earns the MIAC’s berth into the NCAA Regional Championships.

Men’s Swimming & Diving Falls 133-108 To MSU-Mankato

The Gustavus men’s swimming and diving team suffered a 133-108 loss to MSU-Mankato in its final home meet of the season on Senior Night in the Lund Natatorium. The Gusties registered 17 top-three finishes, four of which were in event wins, at the meet.

Women’s Swimming & Diving Defeats St. Thomas And Hamline In Double-Dual

The Gustavus women’s swimming and diving team came away with a pair of wins against St. Thomas and Hamline in Saturday’s double-dual held in the Lund Natatorium in St. Peter, Minn. The Gusties defeated St. Thomas 183-116 and Hamline 245-27. Dajana Vidovic was the top Gustavus swimmer with two individual first place finishes, as Gustavus recorded 10 event wins.
