Women’s Hockey Tops Hamline 4-1 to Advance to MIAC Playoff Final

The Gustavus Adolphus women's hockey team advanced to Sunday's MIAC Playoff Championship game with a 4-1 win over Hamline Friday night at Don Roberts Ice Rink in St. Peter. Kelly Crandall scored a pair of goals for the Gusties, who will host third-seed St. Thomas Sunday at 1 p.m. at Don Roberts Ice Rink. Molly Doyle added a goal and an assist, while Melissa Mackley added a pair of assists.

Men’s Tennis Records Dual Victories Over Hamline, Concordia, and UW-Eau Claire

The Gustavus Adolphus men's tennis team improved their overall record to 3-3 after posting 9-0 wins over Hamline, Concordia-Moorhead, and UW-Eau Claire Saturday. John Kauss was a double-winner against both Hamline and UW-Eau Claire. The Gusties will host South Dakota State, Minnesota State Mankato, and Duquesne University this Saturday (Feb. 17), while also facing Macalester in a MIAC dual.

Men’s Basketball Edged by Hamline 79-78

The Gustavus Adolphus men's basketball team fell to 13-10 overall and 11-7 in the MIAC following a 79-78 loss at Hamline Saturday afternoon. The Gusties were led by Phil Sowden's 20 points on 7-of-8 shooting from the field. Kane Sivesind added 16 points. Jon DeRock led all scorers with 22 points. Gustavus closes out its regular season home schedule Wednesday against St. Olaf.

Gymnastics Tripped Up By Hamline 176.050-173.575

The Gustavus Adolphus gymnastics team closed out its home schedule Friday night with a 176.050-173.575 dual loss to Hamline at the Sponberg Gymnastics Studio. Gustavus' Brittany Moore took top honors on the vault with a 9.225. Both teams will take part in next Saturday's Best of Minnesota meet at the University of Minnesota.

Women’s Basketball Tops Hamline 63-42

The Gustavus Adolphus women's basketball team jumped out to a 31-11 halftime lead and survived a second half rally that cut the lead to as little as nine points to post a 63-42 victory over Hamline Saturday afternoon in St. Peter. Gustie senior Bri Monahan led all scorers with 15 points. Gustavus (10-2, 7-2 MIAC) will face St. Olaf Monday night in Northfield.

Women’s Hockey Outlasts Hamline 4-3 in Overtime

The Gustavus Adolphus women's hockey team allowed a hat trick to Hamline's Melanie Leveille, but got a goal from Jenny Pusch in overtime to post a 4-3 victory over the Pipers and move to 5-1-0 overall and 4-0-0 in the MIAC. The Gusties will face Saint Mary's in a home-and-home series next weekend.

Men’s Hockey Beats Hamline 5-4 in Overtime

The Gustavus men's hockey team defeated Hamline 5-4 in overtime on Saturday night in St. Peter. Ben Ollila (Jr., Lino Lakes, Minn.) scored two goals in the third period to send the game into overtime and Jon Keseley (Sr., St. Louis Park, Minn.) completed the weekend sweep by scoring with 41 seconds left on the clock. Gustavus improves to 4-6-1 overall and remains unbeaten in the MIAC at 4-0-0. The Pipers fall to 2-6-0 and 1-3-0 in the conference.

The Gustavus women's hockey team defeated Hamline 8-1 on Friday evening on Don Roberts Ice Rink. Sophomore Mari Gunderson (So., Shoreview, Minn.) scored three goals to lead the Gusties in the victory. Gustavus improves to 4-1-0 on the season and 3-0-0 in conference play. The Pipers fall to 1-2-2 overall and 1-1-1 in the MIAC.

Men’s Soccer Wins MIAC Playoff Title With 2-0 Win Over Hamline

The Gustavus men's soccer team defeated Hamline University 2-0 to claim its third MIAC Playoff Championship in the past four years. The Gusties got goals from Flynn Stewart-Franzen and Dan Suchy in the second half to help the squad claim the important win. Tyler Garry picked up his 13th shutout of the season in the nets for Gustavus.

Women’s Soccer Shuts Out Hamline 4-0

The Gustavus women's soccer team snapped a two-game losing streak with a 4-0 MIAC victory over Hamline Saturday in St. Peter. Senior Amy Larson scored a goal and an assist, while Shannon Quealy added a pair of assists. The Gusties, who improve to 6-8-2 overall, 3-4-2 in the MIAC, will face Augsburg in their home finale Wednesday, Oct. 25.
