Gustavus improved to 18-8, while Hamline's season ended at 13-13.

The Gustavus men's basketball team used a 10-0 run early in the second half to build a 14-point lead and then closed the door with a 19-3 run over the final five minutes on its way to a 87-58 win over Hamline on Wednesday night in St. Peter. Katie Layman posted 14 points on 5-6 shooting from the field in the second-half to lead a Gustie offense that shot 50% from the floor in the half. Hamline had three players score in double-digits, but committed 25 turnovers that resulted in 25 points for Gustavus.

The Gusties scored twice in the third period and recorded an important 3-1 win over Hamline at Drake Arena in St. Paul on Saturday night. Gustavus got goals from Mitch Carlson, Patrick Dynan, and Joe Welch. Dynan tallied the gamewinner at 10:22 of the third period and Welch secured the win with a goal at the 19:46 mark. The Gusties improve to 3-3-0 overall and 1-1-0 in the MIAC.

Mari Gunderson (Jr., Shoreview, Minn.) scored the fourth hat trick of her career to help lift the Gustavus women's hockey team over Hamline 10-1 in the MIAC opener on Friday night in St. Paul. It took the Golden Gustie offense 11 minutes to score its first goal and never stopped applying the pressure as the Pipers generated just five shots in the entire contest.
