Gymnastics Drops Dual To UW-Whitewater 180.74-169.800

The Gustavus gymnastics team fell to a strong UW-Whitewater squad 180.725-169.800 on Saturday afternoon in Whitewater, Wisc. Danielle Thibodeau had the top Gustavus finish of the day by taking second on the vault with a mark of 9.100. UW-Whitewater’s Katie Thompson took first place in the all-around with a score of 37.000.

Gymnastics Narrowly Falls To UW-Eau Claire 173.875-173.000

The Gustavus gymnastics team suffered a narrow 173.873-173.000 loss to UW-Eau Claire on Thursday night in the Lund Center Forum on the campus of Gustavus Adolphus College. Danielle Thibodeau took first place in the all-around competition with a score of 35.700, as teammate Kelly Mathewson finished behind her in second place with a score of 35.225.

Gymnastics Takes Third At Best Of Minnesota Invite

The Gustavus gymnastics team compiled 172.75 points to finish in third place at the Best of Minnesota Invite held in the Sports Pavilion on the campus of the University of Minnesota on Saturday night. The University of Minnesota won the meet with 194.950 points, as Winona State University took second with 178.725 points and Hamline University took fourth with 167.80.

Gymnastics Falls To UW-Stout 173.725-169.750

The Gustavus gymnastics team dropped it's opening road meet to WIAC opponent UW-Stout 173.725-169.750 on Friday night in Menomonie, Wisc. UW-Stout’s Meghan Hargens and Naomi DeLara were the top performers in the meet as they each won two events. Kelly Mathewson was the top Gustavus performer, taking second in the all-around (34.625).

Thibodeau Shines As Gymnastics Team Drops Dual To Winona State

First-year gymnast Danielle Thibodeau posted a 36.350 in the all-around as the Gustavus gymnastics team fell 175.200-170.625 to Winona State University Thursday night on the Lund Center Forum in St. Peter, Minn. Thibodeau led the Gusties with first place finishes on the uneven parallel bars (8.775), balance beam (9.050), and floor exercise (9.250), while finishing second on the vault (9.275).

Gymnastics Season Preview

The new look Gustavus Adolphus gymnastics team is filled with a great deal of optimism as it is set to embark on the 2010 season. Kelly Mathewson will look to lead this young and inexperienced squad as the 2010 Gustavus gymnastics team returns 11 letterwinners and welcomes nine first year gymnasts to the program. The Gustavus gymnastics team will open the season with a dual meet at home against UW-Oshkosh this Saturday, January 16, at 6:00 p.m.

Gustavus gymnasts Christine Askham, Aryn Bell, Jess Dolan, Laura Hansen, and Meghan Johnson saw their 2009 seasons come to an end after competing at the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association Championships hosted by Hamline University in St. Paul, Minn. on Friday night.

Live Webcast Available For NCGA Championships

A live webcast is available for the 2009 NCGA Gymnastics Championships hosted by Hamline University on March 20-21. Five Gustavus gymnasts will be participating in the national meet including Christine Askham in the all-around, Aryn Bell on the vault, Jess Dolan on the floor exercise, and Laura Hansen and Meghan Johnson on the balance beam. Individual cameras will be broadcasting from each apparatus so each gymnast's performance can be viewed.

Five Gustavus gymnasts have been selected to participate in the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) Championships March 20-21 at Hamline University in St. Paul, Minn. The group consists entirely of seniors as Christine Askham qualified in the all-around competition, Aryn Bell qualified on vault, Jess Dolan qualified on floor exercise, and Laura Hansen and Meghan Johnson qualified on balance beam.

Women’s Gymnastics To Compete At WIAC Championships

The Gustavus women's gymnastics team will take part in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships on Friday at 6:00 pm at Winona State University. The top three team finishers at the conference meet qualify for the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association Championships which will take place March 20-21 at Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota.
