Gustavus senior Danielle Burgmeier broke the Gustavus women’s outdoor track record in the 400-meter hurdles Wednesday night at the Mankato State University Twilight Meet in Mankato, Minn. Burgmeier crossed the finish line first with a time of 1:03.42, breaking the previous record of 1:03.61 set by Carlie Hanson in 2006.

The Gustavus men’s track and field team posted one of its best performances of the season last Saturday in its first home meet – the 11th annual Lee Krough Invitational held in St. Peter, Minn. Sophomore standout Blair Riegel continued to impress both on the track and in the field by claiming two first place finishes along with a pair of top-three performances. A contingent of the Gustavus men’s and women’s track and field teams participated in the Carleton Alumni Open last Thursday in Northfield, Minn. The women’s team posted a strong showing with seven top-three finishes, while the men collected four top-five places.
