The Gusties are 3-1 overall, most recently defeating Wartburg 2-1 in overtime Sunday, while the Knights are 3-0 after beating North Central (Ill.) 2-1 last Friday.

    Men’s Soccer Outlasts Wartburg 2-1 in Overtime

    After suffering a shutout loss Friday night, the Gustavus men’s soccer team rebounded Sunday night with a 2-1 overtime victory at Wartburg. Matt Gibbons (So., Minneapolis, Minn.) scored the game-winning goal in the fifth minute of the extra period on a free kick to move the Gusties to 3-1 overall.

    The Gustavus men’s soccer match vs. Martin Luther College at 4:30 p.m. today has changed locations due to unplayable field conditions at the Gustie Soccer Field. The match will now be played on the Gustavus Reserve Field, which is located directly west of the Swanson Tennis Center.

    The Gustavus men’s soccer team Friday opened the Tudor Flintham era with a decisive 4-1 victory over Presentation at the Gustie Soccer Field. Arthur Parens (Sr., Wayzata, Minn.) tallied two goals and Scott Heinen (So., Aurora, Ill.) posted his first career three-assist match to lead the offense, while the team outshot the visitors by 17.

    Tudor Flintham has been named the head men’s soccer coach at Gustavus Adolphus College, which was announced Monday by Athletics Director Tom Brown. Flintham most recently completed his third season as the head men’s and women’s soccer coach at Nebraska Wesleyan University.
