Women’s Hoops Draws Host Simpson to Open NCAA Tournament

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) on Monday afternoon announced the 64-team field for its Division III Women’s Basketball Championship and Gustavus (22-4) is selected to face No. 5-ranked Simpson (25-1) in the first round on Friday, March 4, hosted by Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa.

Women’s Basketball Wins MIAC Playoff Title 65-56 at Augsburg

For the first time in program history, Gustavus women's basketball is the champion of the MIAC postseason tournament. The Gusties, now 22-4 overall, defeated MIAC regular season champion Augsburg 65-56 on Sunday afternoon, punching their ticket to the NCAA Division III Tournament. 

Women’s Hockey Starts Strong in 5-1 Playoff Win Over Concordia

No. 6 Gustavus women's hockey Saturday afternoon got off to a quick start with two goals in the first 10 minutes and went on to beat Concordia 5-1 in a MIAC playoff quarterfinal game at Don Roberts Ice Rink. The Gusties improve to 20-3-2 and will host St. Scholastica in a MIAC semifinal game on Wednesday night.

Gymnastics Breaks School Record on Vault Against UW-Oshkosh

SAINT PETER, Minn. - The Gustavus gymnastics team hosted UW-Oshkosh on Saturday afternoon while honoring its seniors, Brooke Merila (Sr., St. Michael), Sophie Redding (Sr., Saint Paul), and Lauren Smith (Sr., Mangatangi, New Zealand). Women’s Hoops Controls Bethel Start to Finish, Advances to MIAC Championship

The Gustavus women's basketball team had one of its most dominating performances of the season Friday night, defeating Bethel 74-40 in the MIAC semifinals. The Gusties, now 21-4 overall, advance to their sixth MIAC playoff championship game in program history where they will travel to top-seeded Augsburg (21-5) for a 2 p.m. Sunday tipoff in Minneapolis.

Men’s Hockey Wins First Round of MIAC Playoffs at Hamline 4-3

SAINT PAUL, Minn. - After a season filled with adversities, the Gustavus men's hockey team won the first round of MIAC Championship Playoffs at Hamline on Wednesday. The 4-3 win ended the Pipers season as the Gusties move onto MIAC Championship Quarterfinals. 

Poe Earns Third MIAC Women’s Field Athlete of the Week Honor

Annika Poe (Jr., Big Lake) placed fourth in the shot put at the Minnesota State University-Mankato Mark Miller Invite on Feb. 18 in a field that included both Division II and III athletes. Poe's longest mark was 13.69 meters (44-11.00), which is the best distance in the MIAC this season and ranks 13th in NCAA Division III.
