Women’s Hoops Continues to Impress, Defeats Concordia 82-56
It was a battle of the top two teams in the MIAC in Saint Peter on Wednesday night. In one corner, the heavy-hitting Golden Gusties, coming into the matchup with a 16-2 MIAC record and an 11-game winning streak. In the other corner, the Concordia Cobbers, on a 10-game winning streak of their own, putting them second in the conference with a record of 15-3.

Gustavus women's basketball turned a slow start into a 23-point victory over Macalester Saturday afternoon, defeating the Scots 69-46 for their 11th-straight victory for a conference record of 16-2.
Bennies Can’t Contain Red-Hot Gusties
The No. 22 nationally ranked Gusties were nothing if not impressive Wednesday night. Scoring 83 points, the Gustavus women's basketball team rolled over Saint Benedict to complete the series sweep, improving to 15-2 in conference play and 18-2 overall.
Women’s Hoops Keeps Rolling, Defeats St. Scholastica 83-52
The Gusties — coming off two key conference victories and a national ranking the week before — put up 83 points en route to their league-leading 14th MIAC victory over St. Scholastica. Thanks to a double-double from Rachel Kawiecki, the Gusties defeated the Saints 83-52 to improve to 17-2 overall and 14-2 in conference play.
Benz Named MIAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week
Grace Benz averaged 8.0 rebounds per game last week for the Gusties, as well as 2.5 steals per game and 11.5 points. Benz put up her best defensive performance against Augsburg on Saturday, posting two steals, three blocks, and tying her career-high in rebounds with 12. For her performance, Benz was named MIAC Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.
