Gustavus Athletics Department Inducts Class of 2018 Hall of Fame
The Gustavus Athletics Department inducted nine new members into its Hall of Fame on Saturday night during the 41st annual banquet. The new members include Renee Beaudry Scanlon ’03 (Soccer), Eric Butorac ’03 (Tennis), Meghan Donley Kimber ’00 (Tennis), Ryan Hoag ’03 (Football, Track & Field), Luke Speltz ’03 (Track & Field), Andy Traetow ’03 (Football), Jerry Washington ’03 (Track & Field), Kevin Whipple ’03 (Tennis), and Al Molde ‘66 (Benefactor).

Former Gustavus Tennis Player Eric Butorac Set To Host Minnesota Tennis Challenge This Saturday
Former Gustavus tennis player and current tennis professional Eric Butorac will host the First Annual Minnesota Tennis Challenge this Saturday, December 5 at the Fred Wells Tennis and Education Center in St. Paul. Butorac is bringing five of his good friends from the tour back to Minnesota for the event which will raise funds for youth development through the Fred Wells Tennis and Education Center, the Rochester Boys and Girls Club, and St. Paul Urban Tennis.

Former Gustavus tennis standout Eric Butorac (Class of 2003) teamed with partner Jaime Murray (Great Britain) to defeat Oscar Hernandez (Spain) and Potito Starace (Italy) 6-3, 6-3, 6-3 in a first round match at The Championships at Wimbledon in London, England on Thursday afternoon (Thursday night in London). Butorac and Murray, who are currently rated #14 in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) World Rankings, will now face Jonathan Erlich (Israel) and Andy Ram (Israel) on Saturday.
