Women’s Hockey Earns Series Split, Defeats Hamline 4-2 On Alumni Day

The Gustavus women’s hockey team rebounded after a tough loss last night, earning a 4-2 victory over Hamline on Saturday to split the regular season series. The Gusties scored three goals in the first period and held off a late rally by the Pipers to improve to 4-1-1 overall and 3-1 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Women’s Hockey Sweeps St. Olaf With 3-0 Shutout

The Gustavus women's hockey team earned a series sweep over St. Olaf College Saturday afternoon, led by a shutout performance from Amanda DiNella (Jr., Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.) and Bailey Jackson (Fy., Chaska, Minn.), as well as a three-point game from Erica Power (Sr., Lakeville, Minn.) in the 3-0 victory.

The No. 7-ranked Gustavus women's hockey team responded twice being down by a goal in the home opener at Don Roberts Ice Rink, eventually coming to a 2-2 draw after overtime versus the the No. 10-ranked University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Saturday afternoon. 

Women’s Hockey Drops Puck On 2017-18 Season Saturday At UW-Superior

The Gustavus women’s hockey team is set to drop the puck on the 2017-18 campaign Saturday against the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Action begins 2 p.m. at Siinto S. Wessman Arena in Superior, Wis. The Gusties are coming off their 14th MIAC Championship season, where they boasted a 13-2-3 record in the league (19-7-3 overall), and finished third at the NCAA Championships. UW-Superior opens its season tonight against Concordia-Wisconsin. The Yellowjackets posted a 12-15 overall record last season and went 2-7 in the WIAC.

Gustavus women's hockey head coach Mike Carroll has been selected as the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Hockey Coach of the Year, highlighting the announcement of the MIAC 2016-17 awards. Three Gusties also claimed All-Conference Honorable Mention honors.

The No. 9-ranked Gustavus women's hockey team was led by two goals from Allie Lewis (Sr., Kearney, Neb.) en route to a 3-0 shutout win on senior night over Hamline University Friday evening at Don Roberts Ice Rink, improving its record to 16-5-3 overall and 12-2-3 MIAC.
