Clemensen Named CoSIDA Academic All-District
The 2020 CoSIDA Academic All-District Baseball Teams were released Thursday and Gustavus senior second baseman Carter Clemensen (Cologne) was selected to the District 6 Team, which recognizes student-athletes from institutions in Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. The CoSIDA Academic All-District Teams recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
Baseball 2020 Season Preview
The defending MIAC regular season champion Gustavus baseball team will begin its 2020 season Thursday when it begins play at the Tucson Invite. The Gusties finished 2019 25-13 overall and 14-6 in the MIAC, but lost a strong class of seven seniors to graduation.
Clemensen, O’Neil Earn MIAC Elite 22 Awards
The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) recognized some of its best and brightest spring sport student-athletes on Monday with the announcement of the spring sports Elite 22 Awards. Gustavus was well represented as Carter Clemensen (So., Cologne, Minn.) received the baseball Elite 22 Award and Michael O’Neil (Jr., Edina, Minn.) took home the men’s tennis honor.
Baseball Splits at Saint Mary’s, Will Play for MIAC Title Saturday
The Gustavus baseball team Wednesday split a doubleheader at Saint Mary’s, winning game one 14-2 and losing the night cap 7-3, snapping a 10-game winning steak. The Gusties are now 22-10 overall and 13-5 in the MIAC, holding a one-game lead in the league standings with two games to play.
Baseball Wins Two at Carleton for Back-to-Back MIAC Sweeps
The Gustavus baseball team won a pair of two-run games at Carleton, sweeping the doubleheader 3-1 and 7-5. The Gusties, now winners of their last four games, are 16-9 overall and 7-4 in the MIAC.
Baseball Drops One to St. Thomas, Game Two Suspended Due to Darkness
The Gustavus baseball team Tuesday lost 6-0 to St. Thomas in the opener of a doubleheader and game two was suspended after the 10th inning tied 5-5 due to darkness. The game will pick up at a later date in the top of the 11th with the Tommies coming to bat.

The Gustavus baseball team split its fifth consecutive doubleheader Tuesday, beating Saint John’s 2-0 in game one followed by a 4-2 loss in the second game. The Gusties are now 12-8 overall and 3-3 in the MIAC.

The Gustavus baseball team opened MIAC play Sunday with a split against Macalester. The Gusties won game one 5-3 and lost the second 6-5, moving to 9-5 overall and 1-1 in the league.
Quality Pitching Leads Baseball to Sweep Over Bethany Lutheran
The Gustavus baseball team Saturday completed a doubleheader sweep over Bethany Lutheran at Franklin Rogers Park. The Gusties took game one 8-1 followed by a 6-2 victory in the nightcap, improving to 7-3 overall.
