Women’s Soccer Opens MIAC Slate With 2-0 Loss to Carleton

The Gustavus Adolphus women's soccer fell to 2-3 overall and 0-1 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with a 2-0 loss to Carleton on Wednesday in Northfield. Jenna Iaizzo took a game-high four shots, but was unable to find the net. Gustavus will host Concordia in another MIAC matchup Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m.

Baseball Takes Pair From Carleton, Locks Up MIAC Playoff Berth

The Gustavus baseball team extended its winning streak to 11 games and locked up one of four spots in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference baseball playoffs with a sweep of Carleton Wednesday afternoon. The Gusties took game one 9-5 and completed the sweep with a 18-8 win in game two. Sophomore catcher Shea Roehrkasse batted 3-for-6 on the day, including a pair of home runs and five RBI in game two.

Softball Sweeps Carleton 12-4, 8-1

Gustavus softball notched its second consecutive sweep in as many days with 12-4 and 8-1 wins over Carleton in St. Peter Sunday afternoon. Rachael Click (Fr., Rochester, Minn.) had five hits in five at-bats and scored four runs along with four RBI in the two games.

Women’s Tennis Pushes Record to 21-4 With 9-0 Win Over Carleton

The Gustavus women's tennis team moved to 21-4 overall, 7-0 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with a 9-0 win over Carleton College Saturday afternoon in St. Peter. Five different Gusties recorded wins in both singles and doubles during the dual. The Gusties will close out its regular season dual schedule on the road with matches against St. Kate's and Hamline Sunday before finishing with a dual against St. Olaf Monday.

Men’s Track and Field Fifth at Carleton Relays

The Gustavus men's track and field team captured a total of 16 top-eight finishes at Saturday's Carleton Relays, finishing fifth in the 18-team field with 79 points. St. Thomas won the meet with 130 points, edging out Saint John's (125), Minnesota-Duluth (121) and Minnesota State, Mankato (117). Tanner Miest won the 110-meter hurdles while John Retka captured the long jump title.

Men’s Track and Field Competes at Carleton’s Pre-MIAC Meet

The Gustavus men's indoor track and field team picked up 16 top-three finishes, including five wins, at Friday's Pre-MIAC Invitational hosted by Carleton in Northfield. For many league schools, the meet served as the final competition before next weekend's MIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships, also hosted by Carleton.

Women’s Indoor Track and Field Picks Up Six Wins at Pre-MIAC Meet

The Gustavus women's indoor track and field team picked up wins in six events and set an arena record at Friday's Pre-MIAC Invitational hosted by Carleton. For many schools, including Gustavus, the meet served as the final competition prior to next weekend's Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, also hosted by Carleton. The Gustavus 4x200 meter relay picked the win in an arena record of 1:47.35.

Women’s Basketball Collapses in Second Half, Falls to Carleton 57-53

The Gustavus women's basketball team took a 14-point lead into the halftime break, but let it all slip away in the second half, falling to Carleton 57-53 Wednesday night in Northfield. Sophomore guard Jess Vadnais, who finished with a game-high 19 points, was held without a field-goal attempt in the second half. The loss drops the Gusties to 13-5 overall, 11-5 in the MIAC.

Volleyball Swept By Carleton

The Gustavus volleyball team saw its Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference record evened at 1-1 on Wednesday night, falling to league leader Carleton in three games (30-27, 30-22, 30-15). The Knights improved to 10-1 overall and 3-0 in the MIAC with the victory, while the Gusties fall to 7-5 overall, 1-1 in the league.

Men’s Soccer Downs Carleton 1-0

The Carleton College men's soccer stuck with defending MIAC champion Gustavus Adolphus College for much of the match, but a Jon Astry goal gave the Gusties a 1-0 win in the MIAC opener for both teams.
