Gustavus Squeaks By Bethel 78-77 to Win Third Straight
Gustavus Adolphus junior wing Trevor Wittwer sank a pair of free throws with :07 remaining to give the Gusties a 78-77 win over Bethel Monday night in Arden Hills. Wittwer finished with team-highs in points (21) and rebounds (8) as Gustavus improved to 4-2 overall, 3-0 in the MIAC. The Gusties host Saint John's Wednesday evening in St. Peter.
Women’s Soccer Tops Bethel 2-0 in Season Finale
The Gustavus Adolphus women's soccer capped off its 2006 season with a 2-0 win over Bethel University on Saturday in Arden Hills. Seniors Liz Peterson and Amy Larson each scored a goal in their final collegiate games. The Gusties finish the year on a three-game winning streak and end up at 8-8-2 overall, 5-4-2 in the MIAC.
Football Falls to Bethel In Homecoming Tilt 40-0
Bethel quarterback Ben Wetzell ran for three scores and threw for another to lead Royals past Gustavus Adolphus 40-0 in Saturday's Homecoming game at Hollingsworth Field in St. Peter. The Gusties, who fall to 2-3 overall, 1-3 in the MIAC, were limited to 88 yards of offense by a stingy Royals defense. Gustavus travels to Collegeville to face league-leading Saint John's next Saturday.
Football to Host Bethel for Homecoming
Gustavus welcomes Bethel University to Lloyd Hollingsworth Field this weekend for a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup. The Gusties are 2-2, 1-2 in the MIAC after last weekend's 41-13 home loss to St. Olaf. Bethel enters today's contest with a 4-1 overall record, 2-1 in the MIAC after a 17-7 win over St. Thomas last weekend.
Volleyball Downs Bethel University 3-1
The Gustavus volleyball team won its seventh straight match of the season, 3-1 against Bethel University Wednesday evening in St. Peter. The Gusties won by the scores of 30-14, 30-27, 27-30, and 30-24. Gustavus improves to 13-3 overall and 5-0 in the MIAC. The Royals fall to 11-5 on the season and 3-3 in conference play.
Baseball Team Sweeps Bethel 10-3 and 6-2 to Extend Win Streak to Nine Games
The Gustavus baseball team moved closer to clinching a MIAC Tournament berth with an important double-header sweep against Bethel in Arden Hills Tuesday afternoon. The Gusties won game one 10-3 and then claimed game two 6-2. Gustavus will host Carleton Wednesday afternoon. The Gusties can clinch a playoff spot with a sweep against the Knights.
Men’s Hockey Season Ends With 7-5 Loss to Bethel in MIAC Play-In Game
The Gustavus men's hockey team saw its season come to a close Tuesday night with a 7-5 loss to Bethel in the MIAC Men's Hockey Playoffs Play-In Game. The Gusties led 5-4 midway through the third period, but the Royals scored three unanswered goals to set up a date with top-seeded St. Thomas in the MIAC Semifinals Thursday night. Gustavus closes out its season at 14-11-1.

Women’s Tennis Sweeps Bethel and Macalester 9-0
The Gustavus women's tennis team opened its Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference schedule with a pair of 9-0 wins over Bethel and Macalester Saturday at the Swanson Tennis Center in St. Peter. Gustavus improves to 6-1 overall with the victory and is off next weekend before facing Minnesota State Mankato, St. Thomas and Luther College on March 4.
