The Gustavus men’s nordic ski team placed fifth overall at the NCAA Central Region Skiing Championships held Saturday in Houghton, Mich. Due to heavy winds in excess of 40 miles per hour, the Classic and Freestyle races of the season's final NCAA qualifier took place on the same day with the Gusties securing fifth in both events in the nine-team field.
The Gustavus men’s and women’s nordic ski teams finished competition at the Central Collegiate Ski Association Championships on Sunday in favorable fashion, improving on Saturday’s Freestyle results to secure fifth and sixth place, respectively, in the overall team standings for the two-day meet.
The Gustavus men’s and women’s nordic ski teams turned in fifth and eighth place team finishes, respectively, in the freestyle event on the first day of the Central Collegiate Ski Association Championships held at Al Quaal Ski Trails in Ishpeming, Mich. The meet serves as the Gusties’ conference championship, and precedes the NCAA Central Region Qualifier to be held the weekend of February 18-19.

Competing in the freestyle event on Saturday afternoon, the Gustie women placed sixth amongst the nine Central Collegiate Ski Association teams at the event while the men placed seventh.
