David Martinson Named First Team All-America in Men’s Hockey

Gustavus Adolphus junior forward David Martinson (St. Louis Park, Minn.) was recognized by the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) as a 2009 RBK Hockey Division III All-America West First Team honoree at a banquet held Thursday evening in conjunction with this weekend's NCAA Division III Men's Hockey Championships in Lake Placid, N.Y. Martinson was one of five players named to the All-America teams competing in the NCAA Semifinal games.

Tony Konicek Repeats on ABCA All-America First Team; Tabbed Region Player of the Year by Writers

For the second consecutive season, Gustavus Adolphus College third baseman Tony Konicek has been named to the NCAA Division III All-America First Team by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA). Konicek, who hit .452 with 10 home runs and 55 RBI, was also honored as the Midwest Region Position Player of the Year by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA).

Tony Konicek, Mike DesLauriers Named All-Midwest Region by ABCA

Gustavus Adolphus College baseball players Tony Konicek and Mike DesLauriers have been named All-Midwest Region by the American Baseball Coaches Association. Konicek, a three-time All-MIAC selection and two-time MIAC Most Valuable Player, was named to the first team, while DesLauriers picked up third team honors.

Baseball Player Ben Sherer Named to Academic All-America Third Team

Gustavus Adolphus senior baseball player Ben Sherer has been named to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Team for the third consecutive year. Sherer, a first baseman from Bismarck, North Dakota, is only the second student athlete from Gustavus to be named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America team three times (2004, 2005, and 2006).

Baseball Player Tony Konicek Named First Team All-America by the ABCA

Gustavus Adolphus outfielder Tony Konicek (Rochester, Minn. / Mayo) has been named to the Rawlings/NCAA Division III All-America First Team by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA). Konicek is Gustavus' second All-American in baseball and the first to be named to the first team. Brad Mazer was named to the second team as a catcher in 2002. Konicek was also a First Team All-Midwest Region selection by the ABCA.

Softball Player Audrey Lenoch Named to NFCA Division III All-America Team

Gustavus Adolphus senior Audrey Lenoch has been named to the Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III All-America Second Team for the third time in four years. Lenoch, a selection at first base this season, was selected to the second team at third base in 2004 and as a utility player in 2003.

Kroog Named to NSCAA / adidas All-America Third Team

Gustavus Adolphus College senior midfielder Bobby Kroog (Bloomington, Minn.) has been named to the 2005 National Soccer Coaches Association of America/adidas NCAA Division III All-America Third Team. Kroog was also a second team selection in 2003 and a third team selection in 2004.

Kroog and Iblings Named to 2005 NSCAA / adidas All-West Region Team

Gustavus Adolphus men's soccer players Bobby Kroog and Jordan Iblings have been named to the 2005 National Soccer Coaches Association of America/adidas All-West Region Team. Kroog makes his third consecutive appearance on the first team, while Iblings is being honored for the first time.

Two Gusties Earn All-America Honors

Gustavus Adolphus College men's golfers Neil Johnson and Luke Benoit earned All-America honors for their performances at the NCAA Championships held May 12-15 in Delaware, Ohio.

Peterson Named Honorable Mention All-America

Angie Peterson, a junior two-time all-conference guard on the Gustavus Adolphus College squad, was named honorable mention NCAA Division III Kodak/WBCA All-America.
