Women’s Basketball Falls Late At Concordia 64-56

In a tightly contested contest, Concordia maintained a slight advantage throughout and held on for a 64-56 victory over Gustavus in a MIAC women’s basketball tilt Wednesday night in Moorhead, Minn. The Gusties and Cobbers spilt the regular season series after Gustavus won 87-72 on Jan. 16. With the loss, the Gusties fall to 18-6 overall and 16-5 in the MIAC.

Abby Rothenbuehler led the Gusties for the second-straight game with 12 points. 

Women’s Basketball Falls On The Road 65-56 To Macalester

Conference standings proved to be of no meaning Saturday afternoon in St. Paul as second place Gustavus fell 65-56 to eighth place Macalester in MIAC women’s basketball action. The Gusties fall to 18-5 overall and 16-4 in the MIAC, while the Scots improve to 11-12 overall and 9-11 in league play.

Strong Second Half Propels Women’s Basketball Past Saint Mary’s 70-56

After a closely contested first half, the Gustavus women’s basketball team pulled away from Saint Mary’s in the second for a 70-56 victory Wednesday night in St. Peter, Minn. The Gusties improve to 18-4 overall and 16-3 in the MIAC, securing at least the No. 3 seed in the MIAC Playoffs and another game at Gus Young Court.

Women’s Basketball Wins Big 71-49 At St. Kate’s

The Gustavus women’s basketball team followed a tough road loss to St. Olaf on Wednesday with a convincing 71-49 victory against St. Catherine on Saturday afternoon in St. Paul. The Gusties improve to 17-4 overall and 15-3 in the MIAC, while the Wildcats fall to 1-20 on the year and 0-18 in conference action.

Molly Geske led the Gusties in scoring for the ninth time this season with 14 points. 

Women’s Basketball Falls On The Road To St. Olaf 67-55

The Gustavus women’s basketball team couldn’t complete the regular season series sweep over St. Olaf, falling 67-55 Wednesday night in Northfield, Minn. Gustavus and St. Olaf split the series after the Gusties won game one 62-48 on Jan. 2. With the loss, the Black and Gold fall to 16-4 overall and 14-3 in the MIAC, while the Oles improve to 14-6 overall and 11-6 in conference play.

Women’s Basketball Back On Track, Tops Augsburg 63-58

The Gustavus women’s basketball team got back in the win column Monday night in St. Peter, Minn. with a 63-58 victory over Augsburg. The Gusties improve to 16-3 overall and 14-2 in the MIAC, while the Auggies fall to 11-8 overall and 8-8 in conference action.

No. 20 St. Thomas Ends Women’s Basketball 12-Game Win Streak 72-52

The Gustavus women’s basketball team jumped out to a 3-2 lead to open Saturday afternoon’s game in St. Peter, Minn., but 20th-ranked St. Thomas responded with 12 unanswered points and never looked back en rout to a 72-52 Tommie victory. The loss ended a program record 12-game MIAC win streak for the Gusties, who fall to 15-3 overall and 13-2 in the conference, while the Tommie stay perfect in the league at 15-0 and 17-1 overall.

Women’s Basketball Notches 12th Consecutive Win 70-44 Over Carleton

The Gustavus women’s basketball team cruised to its 12th consecutive victory with a 70-44 decision over Carleton Wednesday night in St. Peter, Minn. completing the regular season series sweep. The Gusties improve to 15-2 overall and 13-1 in the MIAC, while the Knights fall to 2-15 overall and 1-13 in conference action.

The Gustavus women’s basketball team extended its win streak to 11 games Saturday afternoon with a 60-38 victory over Bethel University in Arden Hills, Minn. The Gusties improve to 14-2 overall and 12-1 in the MIAC, while the Royals fall to 9-6 on the year and 8-5 in league play.

Steph Comer nailed a 30-foot buzzer-beater to send the game into overtime. The junior guard scored all of her 15 points from behind the arc.

Steph Comer nailed a half court buzzer-beater to send the Gustavus women's basketball team into overtime Wednesday night in St. Paul, where the Gusties prevailed 83-82 over Hamline. The win extends their win streak to ten and the Gusties are now 11-1 in the MIAC and 13-2 overall.
