Women’s Tennis Earns 6-0 Win Over Saint Benedict In Rain-Shortened Match

The Gustavus Adolphus College women's tennis team earned a 6-0 victory over the College of Saint Benedict in a match shortened by rain on Saturday afternoon at the Blazer Tennis Complex. With the win, the Gusties move to 17-6 overall and 8-0 in the MIAC.

Tennis Teams Take On Conference Opponents; Men Can Lock Up 28th Straight MIAC Title

The Gustavus Adolphus College tennis teams each compete against MIAC opponents on Saturday, with the men hosting Carleton College on Saturday at 2 p.m. and the women heading to St. Joseph, Minn. for a matchup with the College of Saint Benedict at 1 p.m. Both squads enter Saturday's matches undefeated in the conference, with the men at 8-0 and women at 7-0. A win over Carleton would guarantee the men their 28th consecutive MIAC Regular Season Championship and also clinch it the No. 1 seed in the upcoming conference playoffs.

Michaela Schulz Earns Third Women’s Tennis MIAC Athlete of the Week Honor

The Gustavus Adolphus College women's tennis team faced one of its toughest stretches last week, with matches against two teams that had only one MIAC loss, combined. However, the Gusties and junior star Michaela Schulz (Elk River, Minn.) rose to the challenge, scoring a pair of impressive 8-1 wins to lock up a MIAC Playoff bid with Schulz going 4-0 combined at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles. For her performance, the MIAC sports information directors honored Schulz Tuesday with her third MIAC Women's Tennis Athlete-of-the-Week award of the 2016 season.

Women’s Tennis Earns Big Win Over Defending Playoff Champ St. Thomas 8-1

The Gustavus Adolphus College women's tennis team maintained its perfect record in conference play on Sunday, taking down defending MIAC Playoff Champion University of St. Thomas 8-1 in a match played at the Brown Outdoor Tennis Complex. The win moves the Gusties to 16-6 overall and 7-0 in conference play, while the Tommies suffer their first conference loss and only their second overall defeat of the season to move to 13-2 and 7-1.

Women’s Tennis Downs St. Olaf 8-1

The Gustavus Adolphus College women’s tennis team earned an 8-1 victory over St. Olaf College on Saturday afternoon at the Carlson Outdoor Courts. With the win, the Gusties move to 15-6 overall and 6-0 in the MIAC, and are one of three remaining undefeated conference teams, along with Carleton and St. Thomas.

Tennis Teams Take Court For Another Competitive Weekend

The Gustavus Adolphus College tennis teams are both back in action this weekend with multiple competitive matches and plenty at stake. The men's team heads to the Milwaukee area for matches against fellow nationally-ranked foes No. 5 University of Chicago on Saturday and No. 37 Kalamazoo College on Sunday. Meanwhile, the women's squad takes on St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn. on Saturday, and returns home Sunday to face defending MIAC Playoff Champion and conference rival University of St. Thomas.

Less than 24 hours after earning an 8-1 win over St. Catherine University, the Gustavus Adolphus College women's tennis team earned a 9-0 victory over Saint Mary's University in a match played Sunday morning at the Winona Indoor Tennis Center. The Gusties are now 14-6 overall and 5-0 in the MIAC.

Women’s Tennis Takes Down St. Kate’s 8-1

The Gustavus Adolphus College women's tennis team took down St. Catherine University 8-1 in a conference match played Saturday evening at the Baseline Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Minnesota. With the win, the Gusties move to 13-6 overall and 4-0 in the MIAC.

Tennis Teams Re-Open Conference Play This Weekend On Road

After several weeks of competing against top regional and national non-conference competition, the Gustavus Adolphus College men's and women's tennis teams return to MIAC play this weekend. Both teams play each of their three matches on the road, as the men take on St. Olaf on Friday and are back in action Saturday with matches against Hamline and Macalester. The women take on Macalester and St. Kate's on Saturday and return to competition on Sunday against Saint Mary's.

Alhouni, Schulz Sweep MIAC Tennis Athlete of the Week Honors

Gustavus Adolphus College tennis players Mohanad Alhouni (So., Tripoli, Libya) and Michaela Schulz (Jr., Elk River, Minn.) were honored Tuesday as the MIAC's Tennis Athletes of the Week as voted on by the league's sports information directors.
