Women’s Soccer Tops Bethel 2-0 in Season Finale

The Gustavus Adolphus women's soccer capped off its 2006 season with a 2-0 win over Bethel University on Saturday in Arden Hills. Seniors Liz Peterson and Amy Larson each scored a goal in their final collegiate games. The Gusties finish the year on a three-game winning streak and end up at 8-8-2 overall, 5-4-2 in the MIAC.

Women’s Soccer Defeats Augsburg 1-0

The Gustavus women's soccer team won its third consecutive conference match on Wednesday afternoon with a 1-0 victory over Augsburg. Becca Hagen (Fy., Minneapolis, Minn.) scored the lone goal of the game and Christy Tupy (So., Eagan, Minn.) was credited with the assist. The Gusties improve to 7-8-2 overall and 4-4-2 in the MIAC while the Auggies fall to 9-5-2 on the season and 6-3-1 in the conference.

Women’s Soccer Shuts Out Hamline 4-0

The Gustavus women's soccer team snapped a two-game losing streak with a 4-0 MIAC victory over Hamline Saturday in St. Peter. Senior Amy Larson scored a goal and an assist, while Shannon Quealy added a pair of assists. The Gusties, who improve to 6-8-2 overall, 3-4-2 in the MIAC, will face Augsburg in their home finale Wednesday, Oct. 25.

Women’s Soccer Loses to UW-La Crosse 2-1

The Gustavus women's soccer team fell to UW-La Crosse 2-1 on Wednesday afternoon in St. Peter. Jenna Iaizzo scored the Gusties' only goal in the 64th minute. Gustavus' record drops to 5-8-2 on the season, while UW-L improves to 5-5-3 overall.

Women’s Soccer Topped by UW-Stevens Point 5-0

The Gustavus Adolphus women's soccer team fell to UW-Stevens Point 5-0 Sunday in a nonconference game at Stevens Point, Wis. Amanda Prawat scored two goals and an assist in the Pointer victory. The Gusties (5-7-2 overall) host UW-La Crosse at 3:30pm Wednesday in another nonconference matchup.

Women’s Soccer Tops St. Thomas 3-2

Gustavus senior Amy Larson scored a goal and an assisted on another to lead the Gustie women's soccer team to a 3-2 win over St. Thomas Tuesday afternoon in St. Paul. Gustavus scored three consecutive goals after falling behind 1-0 in the 8th minute. The Gusties (5-6-2, 2-4-2 MIAC) will step out of league play this weekend to face UW-Stevens Point on Sunday afternoon in Stevens Point, Wis.

Women’s Soccer Loses to Macalester 1-0 in Double Overtime

The Gustavus women's soccer team lost a heartbreaker to Macalester College 1-0 in the second overtime at St. Peter on Saturday afternoon. It took 105 minutes for Macalester to record the game-winning goal by first-year Rose Betzler. The Gusties fall to 4-6-2 overall, 1-4-2 in the MIAC while the Scots improve to 8-0-4, 4-0-2 in the conference.

Women’s Soccer Picks Up 2-1 Nonconference Win Over Luther

The Gustavus Adolphus women's soccer team opened the month of October with a 2-1 road nonconference win over Luther Sunday in Decorah, Iowa. The Gusties, who improve to 4-5-2 overall, were led by senior Amy Larson, who provided a goal and an assist, and Jenna Iaizzo, who added a goal. The Gusties are off until Saturday when they host Macalester.

Women’s Soccer Draws With St. Olaf 1-1

The Gustavus Adolphus women's soccer team picked up another point in the MIAC standings Saturday, playing to a 1-1 draw with St. Olaf in St. Peter. The Oles (5-3-1, 1-3-1 MIAC) took the lead with an early second-half goal by Katie Bierlein off a corner kick, but the Gusties (3-5-2, 1-3-2 MIAC) answered in the 84th minute as Jenna Iaizzo knotted the game. Gustavus outshot the Oles 5-0 in 20 minutes of extra time, but could not put a game-winner through.

Women’s Soccer Falls to Saint Mary’s 2-1 in Overtime

The Gustavus Adolphus women's soccer team fell to 2-5-1 overall, 1-3-1 in the MIAC on Wednesday with a 2-1 overtime loss to Saint Mary's University in Winona. SMU's Lisa Tlougan put the game-winner past Gustavus' Ashley Ohlson with 3:37 to play in the first extra session. Ashley Voigtlander scored the lone Gustavus goal in the 83rd minute off an assist by Rachel Iblings. Gustavus will host St. Olaf on Saturday at 1 p.m.
