The Gustavus women’s basketball team defeated Wartburg College 72-71 Tuesday night in the team’s season opener. Senior wing Lacy Skoog led the Gusties with 16 points, including five points in the last 28 seconds to seal the win for Gustavus.

Gustavus Adolphus senior Angie Peterson has been named to the D3Hoops All-America basketball team. Peterson, a pre-season All-America selection, was named to the All-America second team and to the West All-Region first team this year.

Senior guard Angie Peterson became the first women’s basketball player at Gustavus to be named to the Kodak/WBCA All-America team on Friday. Peterson, the second leading scorer in school history (1,333 pts.), was honorable mention All-America last year.
