Softball Posts Second Straight MIAC Sweep

The Gustavus softball team won its third- and fourth-straight games, sweeping Concordia by scores of 6-0 and 7-2 on a rainy day in the MSU-Mankato dome. Gustie pitchers Marah Hulke (Fy., Courtland) and Maizie Anderson (Fy., Rosemount) led the way, both pitching complete games and combining for only three hits against.

Poe Named MIAC Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week

Annika Poe (Sr., Big Lake) won the shot put at the Bethel Invitational over the weekend with a throw of 13.65 meters (44' 9.5"), a whole two meters better than the rest of the field. Poe's mark is the best in the conference this season and currently ranks 12th in NCAA Division III. For her performance, Poe was named MIAC Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Women’s Tennis Claims Trio of MIAC Matches

The Gustavus women's tennis team won three MIAC matches over the weekend, improving to 14-11 overall and 7-0 in the MIAC.

Track & Field Has Record Setting Day at Bethel Invite

The Gustavus men's and women's track & field teams competed at the Bethel Invitational on a cold and windy Saturday, coming away with one school record and six event winners. 

Women’s Golf Takes Third at Gustie Spring Invite, Ward Earns Medalist

The Gustavus women's golf team hosted the Gustie Spring Invite on Saturday at Emerald Greens and finished in third place with a score of 324 (+24).

Gusties Complete MIAC Sweep of Macalester

It's safe to say Friday's doubleheader against Macalester was a whirlwind for the Gusties. Game one started in a heavy heat, sunny and 81 at the Gustie Softball Field. The Scots took an early lead, but the Gusties battled back and tagged the game-tying run out at home to win the game in the top of the seventh, 7-6.

Gusties Suffer MIAC Sweep Against St. Olaf

The Gustavus softball team suffered a MIAC sweep at the hands of St. Olaf Thursday, falling 8-0 in five innings in game one of the doubleheader and 5-4 in the second. The Gusties fall to 8-14 and 1-5 in MIAC play. 

Softball Settles for Split with No. 14 Saint Benedict

The Gustavus softball team met their second nationally-ranked opponent of the season — and second in a row — hosting No. 14 Saint Benedict for a MIAC home opener. The Gusties impressed in game one, defeating the Bennies 6-3, but fell in the rematch, as the Bennies picked up the 7-2 victory. 

Nelson Named MIAC Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week

Birgen Nelson won the 100-meter hurdles at the Duke Invitational in Durham, N.C. on 4/8. Racing against a field of Division I athletes, Nelson won with a time of 13.88, which is currently the fastest in NCAA Division III this season. Nelson competed at Colorado College on 4/4 as well, winning the 100-hurdles in 14.07. Nelson also won the 100-meter in 12.19, which currently ranks first in the MIAC. Nelson finished the meet as a member the winning 4x100 relay team with a time of 48.92, which ranks second in the MIAC.

Softball Opens MIAC Play with Pair of Losses at No. 11 Bethel

After nearly two weeks off, the Gusties opened conference play against a formidable foe, facing nationally-ranked No. 11 Bethel Saturday afternoon. The Gusties dropped a tight game one in nine innings, 1-0, before falling 4-2 in the second matchup.
