Senior Tyler Geyen finished fourth in the 110-meter hurdles and the 4x400 meter relay team placed fifth at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Marietta, Ohio on Saturday. Geyen crossed the finish line with a time of 14.53 seconds, while the 4x400 meter relay team clocked a time of 3:12.72. The Gusties finished the meet tied for 36th place with nine points from both performances.

Kaelene Lundstrum Places Fifth In Heptathlon, Sam Broderius Finishes Sixth In Discus At NCAA Championships

Gustavus junior Kaelene Lundstrum (Bird, Island, Minn.) finished fifth in the heptathlon and sophomore Sam Broderius (Hector, Minn.) placed sixth in the discus at the 2009 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday in Marietta, Ohio. Lundstrum earned 4,624 points, while Broderius recorded a distance of 140 feet, 11 inches as each athlete earned All-America honors by virtue of finishing in the top eight at the national meet.

Men’s Track And Field 4×400 Relay Qualifies For Finals At NCAA Championships

The Gustavus men's 4x400 meter relay team qualified for the event finals after finishing third in its preliminary heat with a school record time of 3:12.48 at the 2009 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday afternoon. The squad bettered the previous record, which was set at the MIAC Championships at 3:13.62, by over a second. The NCAA Championships are being hosted by Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio.

Four Men’s Track and Field Members Qualify For NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships

Four members of the Gustavus men's track and field team have been selected to participate in the 2009 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships which will be held May 21-23 at Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio. That group includes senior Tyler Geyen (110-meter hurdles and 4x400 meter relay), junior Cole Carlson (400 meters and 4x400 meter relay), sophomore Colby Citrowske (4x400 meter relay), and sophomore Matt Leeb (4x400 meter relay).

Cole Carlson Wins 400 Meters To Highlight Men’s Track and Field Performance At MIAC Championships

Junior Cole Carlson won the 400 meter dash with a NCAA provisional school record time of 48.03 to help the Gustavus men's track and field team finish in seventh place with 65.5 points at the MIAC Championships hosted by Carleton College. Senior Tyler Geyen earned second in the 110 meter hurdles with a NCAA provisional time of 14.50 and fifth in the javelin at a distance of 172 feet, 7 inches. St. Thomas claimed the team championship with 182 points, while Saint John's finished second with 125 points.

Men’s Track and Field MIAC Championships Preview

The Gustavus men's track and field team will compete in the MIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships this Friday and Saturday at Carleton College. Senior hurdler Tyler Geyen and junior sprinter Cole Carlson are ranked among the elite performers in the conference heading into the weekend championships. The meet begins at 2:00 pm on Friday and continues on Saturday beginning at 1:00 pm.

Men’s Track and Field Competes At Meet of the UnSaintly

The Gustavus men's track and field team turned in eight top five finishes at the Meet of the UnSaintly hosted by Hamline University on Saturday. Tyler Geyen (Sr., Watertown, Minn.) set a new school record in the 100-meter hurdles with a NCAA provisional time of 14.49 for first place. The strongest event showing was in the javelin throw where four Gusties placed in the top five led by Chad Arlt (Sr., St. Michael, Minn.), who won with the distance of 53.87 meters. No team scores were kept at the meet.

Carl Stenoien Finishes Ninth At MIAC Decathlon Championships

Sophomore Carl Stenoien finished ninth in the decathlon at the MIAC Multi-Event Championships which were held at Carleton College on Thursday and Friday. Stenoien tallied a total of 5,290 points with his best result coming in the pole vault as he tied for third at a height of 12-8 3/4. Brayden Wagner of Saint John's won the event with a total of 6,435 points.

Carl Stenoien Finishes First Day Of MIAC Decathlon Championships In Ninth Place

Gustavus sophomore Carl Stenoien tallied 2,844 points for ninth place after the first day of the MIAC Decathlon Championships hosted by Carleton College in Northfield. Ryan Doyle of St. Olaf compiled 3,439 points for first place, while Paul Westmark of Concordia sits in second with 3,324 points. Points earned during the competition, which concludes on Friday in Northfield, carry over to the team point totals for the MIAC Outdoor

Men’s Track and Field Competes At Drake Alternative

The Gustavus Adolphus men's outdoor track and field team hosted the Drake Alternative Outdoor Meet Saturday in St. Peter, posting 12 top-five finishes. Event winners included Carson Smith (So., Prior Lake, Minn.) in the 800 meters and Dan Foley (Sr., Minneapolis, Minn.) in the 5,000 meters, and the 4x800 relay team. No team scores were kept during the meet.
