Men’s Indoor Track & Field Ready To Take Part In 2010 MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships

The Gustavus men’s indoor track and field team looks to improve on last season’s eighth place finish, as it is set to compete at the 2010 MIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Carleton College in Northfield, Minn. The Gusties, under the direction of Dale Bahr in his first season as head coach, will look for strong individual performances and a top five team finish.

Max Hanson Named MIAC Indoor Track Athlete Of The Week

Gustavus Adolphus senior Max Hanson has been named MIAC Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for his efforts at the Macalester Pre-MIAC Meet on Friday in St. Paul. Hanson won the 600-yard run with a time of 1:12.35. Hanson's time set a new Macalester Fieldhouse record, tied the MIAC Indoor Championship record, and placed him in first on the MIAC performance list in the 600-yard run.

Men’s Indoor Track & Field Competes In Macalester Pre-MIAC Meet

The Gustavus men’s track and field team compiled three individual event wins at the Pre-MIAC Meet held in the Macalester College Fieldhouse on Friday night in St. Paul. Event wins came from Matt Dvorak, Max Hanson, and John Kennedy. Dvorak won the 55-meter dash (6.57), Hanson won the 600-yard run (1:12.35), and Kennedy won the one-mile run (4:25.36). No team scores were kept at the meet.

Men’s Indoor Track & Field Places Third At Saint John’s Quadrangular

The Gustavus men’s indoor track and field team compiled 160 points to take third place at the Saint John’s quadrangular held in Collegeville, Minn. on Saturday afternoon. Cole Carlson was the top Gustavus performer with individual event wins in the 200 meter dash (22.97) and 400 meter dash (49.98). The University of Minnesota-Dululth won the meet with 179.5 points, as Saint John’s finished second with 171.5, while Concordia placed fourth with 77.

Max Hanson Named MIAC Men’s Track Athlete Of The Week

Gustavus senior Max Hanson (Montrose, Minn./Buffalo) has been named MIAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Track Athlete of the Week for his efforts at the Meet of the Hearts hosted by Carleton on Saturday in the Recreation Center in Northfield, Minn. Hanson took first place in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:54.68, beating out the second place finisher by 2.64 seconds. Hanson's time is the top in the conference and provisionally qualifies him for the NCAA Championships.

Men’s Indoor Track & Field Finishes Fourth At Meet Of The Hearts

The Gustavus men's indoor track and field team compiled 94.5 points to finish fourth place at the Meet of the Hearts hosted by Carleton College in Northfield, Minn. Max Hanson and John Kennedy registered individual event wins, as Hanson won the 800 meter run (1:54.68) and Kennedy took the mile run (4:27.10). Hamline won the meet with 203.5 points, as Bethel placed second with 101.5 points, and Augsburg took third with 99.5 points.

Men’s Track & Field Competes At Ted Nelson Classic

The Gustavus men’s track and field team competed in the Ted Nelson Classic hosted by MSU-Mankato in the Meyers Field House Saturday afternoon. No team scores were kept at the meet, yet the Gusties turned in 11 top five finishes at the meet.

Men’s Track & Field Competes At MSU-Mankato Open

The Gustavus men's track and field team competed in the two-day MSU-Mankato Open on Friday and Saturday in Meyer's Field House on the campus of MSU-Mankato. Gustavus tallied three to five finishes as no teams scores were recorded at the meet.

Men’s Indoor Track & Field Season Preview

The 2010 Gustavus Adolphus men’s indoor track team will look to it’s five returning All-Conference performers to help the squad improve on the team’s eighth place finish at last season’s MIAC Indoor Championships. Select members of the Gustavus men’s indoor track team will take part in the Bethel University Invite on Saturday, Jan. 16, in Arden Hills, Minn.
