    The Gustavus men’s hockey team lost to the Milwaukee School of Engineering 9-6 in the first round of the MSOE Holiday Tournament in Milwaukee. The Gusties tied the score at 5-5 early in the third period, but MSOE scored three power play goals late in the game and claimed the 9-6 victory.

    The Gustavus Adolphus men’s hockey team downed Concordia-Moorhead 5-2 Saturday to complete a weekend sweep of the Cobbers in Moorhead. Mike Hosfield scored twice and Joe Welch and Niko Suoraniemi each scored a goal and an assist for the Gusties, who host Saint John’s in a non-conference game Tuesday evening in St. Peter.

Eric Bigham, Sami Idris, and John Arundel each scored a goal for the Gusties, who finish off the weekend homestand with a non-conference game Saturday evening against St. Scholastica.

    The Gustavus men’s hockey team will open its 2006-07 season this weekend. The Gusties will host UW-River Falls on Friday night and then travel to UW-Stout on Saturday night.     Gustavus Adolphus men’s hockey defenseman Jon Keseley (Jr., St. Louis Park, Minn.), who led the Gusties in scoring this season with 41 points, has been named to the RBK Hockey Division III All-America West Second Team by the American Hockey Coaches Association.
